Action on The Young and the Restless points to plots and counter-plots in Genoa City. Mamie has a plan, and Tucker has a plan, and Jack has a plan, and Ashley has a plan, and Jill has a plan and now Diane and Kyle have a plan, too! Kyle is going to pretend to be in on Tucker’s plan, but he is really going to have his own plan, which will somehow tie in with Jack’s plan but not Billy’s plan and, at the end, Kyle will be Daddy’s favorite and get all of Jabot as well as a cookie! But how likely is this plan to succeed…and how likely is it to blow up in the mother and son’s faces?
Kyle Abbott: Holding Out for a Hero
Kyle (Michael Mealor) is convinced he can play hero, and his mommy is rooting for him every step of the way (they came up with plan after he confessed his sins). Why, together they can outsmart anyone! Diane (Susan Walters) has decades of scheming experience, and Kyle has all the self-confidence of a rich nepo baby who was born on third base and assumes he hit a triple. They can’t lose!
Odd Man Out
Even if their plan does succeed, do Diane and Kyle really expect Jack (Peter Bergman) to be pleased once he finds out they went behind his back to do it? Jack already has issues with trusting the people who claim to love him. This will in no way help that. Right now, Jack thinks Diane hung the moon. And he is obliged to love Kyle by law. Once he learns they didn’t trust him enough to take him into their confidence, he is going to feel so betrayed!
Don’t Forget the Best Will Go Wrong
Arguably, Kyle has never succeeded at anything — personally or professionally. And the last time Diane had a clever plot, she ended up presumed dead for multiple years. With these two resumes, how can anyone expect anything but a major disaster?
