Adam wasn’t the only one shocked when Victor seemed to actually care about Audra’s employment status, and while Y&R spoilers haven’t teased an answer to this strange happening, we think we have figured it out.
Y&R Spoilers Speculation
A while back, Soap Hub speculated that Audra (Zuleyka Silver) was actually the daughter of Victor’s (Eric Braeden) longtime butler, Miguel Rodriquez (Anthony Pena), and that was why she was trying to infiltrate Newman Enterprises. Now she is the head of Newman Media, and she’s riding high on her success.
She’s smart, savvy, and knows how to get what she wants and thinks she’s able to outsmart everyone in the room. Heck, she may have learned all about scheming from Tucker (Trevor St. John) and believes she’s surpassed the master, but did she really think she could outsmart the Great Victor Newman? Doesn’t she know he knows everything going on everywhere, having to do with absolutely everyone?
But Victor being Victor, he saw the beauty in letting Audra believe she was getting one over on him. He was even amused by it. Isn’t Miguel’s daughter adorable with her scheming? She’s more like him than her own father — and you can bet he would love that.
So when the thought came up that she could be let go as companies merge and could be cut loose from Newman, well, that didn’t please Victor, and he wanted to make sure she would use her powers of scheme for the good of Newman and no one else.
If this isn’t what’s going on, that Audra has a closer connection to Victor than anyone else knows, then why else would he care about a woman who, in normal circumstances, as Adam (Mark Grossman) so crassly put it, is expendable? Think you know why?
