Y&R spoilers are highlighting a unique bit of synchronicity. Both Adam Newman and Kyle Abbot have just been told by their respective daddies that, if they want to play a major role in their family companies, they’ll have to go back and start at the bottom. No more being handed CEO jobs right out of the gate.

Y&R Spoilers Speculation

It doesn’t matter if Adam (Mark Grossman) has a degree from Harvard Business School and Kyle (Michael Mealor) spent his college years knocking up married women — both have now been dumped down to the same entry-level positions. With so much in common, you’d think they’d consider joining forces to fight back. Here is why they won’t.

Young & Restless: Rich and Petty

Teaming up would make sense. And it’s not like they have philosophical objections to biting the hands that feed them. Adam has worked with Jack (Peter Bergman) before. And when Kyle first came back to Genoa City as an adult, he was full-out scheming with Victor (Eric Braeden) behind Jack’s back. So it’s not a matter of loyalty. It’s a matter of stupidity.

Y&R Spoilers: Spoiled Brats

We’ve never seen Adam and Kyle’s kindergarten report cards, but we suspect they both said, “Doesn’t play well with others.” Adam and Kyle don’t do teams. And they certainly don’t do teams with someone they don’t like. These two may have heard of the “enemy of my enemy is my friend.” But they don’t think it applies to them.

The folklore they follow is, “Cutting off my nose to spite my face.” Sure, teaming up could be good for both. But neither one is sensible enough to set aside their differences in order to make it happen. These two are going to keep reinventing the wheel on their own, rather than join forces. Which means success will take them twice as long. And failure is just as likely.
