The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, October 27, 2023, brings Sally reconnecting with Adam after he shared his fears with her.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Victor confided in Nate that he was worried about his mental decline, swearing the former doctor to secrecy. Victoria and Nick discussed their father’s lies, and Nikki reassured them all would be okay…for them, at least. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: Connection
In her suite, Sally (Courtney Hope) dreamed about Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Adam (Mark Grossman) fighting over her. When she tried to get them to stop, Nick insisted she choose one of them.
“I don’t know. I don’t know,” Sally repeated as she woke up. She got up and attempted to do some work, but she kept flashing back to conversations with Adam and Nick, so she grabbed her purse and went downstairs.
Earlier, Adam sat in the jazz lounge recalling the conversation he just had with Sally about talking to a doctor about his father. Dr. Skelton, the psychiatrist, joined him. Adam insisted the doctor promise he would be discrete.
They discussed Victor, and Adam explained his father was exhibiting signs of dementia. There wasn’t much the doctor could do without meeting Victor. Adam filled him in on the slips and memory lapses that his father had and his rages. The doctor said only thorough tests could determine normal signs of aging from actual dementia, which Victor had to participate in.
After the doctor left, Sally came down the stairs. Spotting Adam, she tried to leave, but he called over to her. Sensing she was upset, he tried to buy her a drink. She decided being there was a mistake and left.
Adam followed her to her suite and asked why she was running from him. She insisted it had nothing to do with him. As they talked, Sally noticed he wasn’t okay, and he explained he had met with a psychiatrist about his father, and he was worried. It felt like there wasn’t a damn thing he could do to help him. She gave him a lengthy hug, which led to a kiss. When they stepped into her suite, he asked if they should stop. She didn’t want to, so they undressed each other and enjoyed some adult time.
Young and the Restless Recap: Baiting A Trap
At the ranch, Victor (Eric Braeden) told Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) that he was sure that Nick would go straight to his sister and tell her everything. She didn’t think her daughter would understand, but Victor didn’t care. It wouldn’t affect his plan.
Nate showed up, and Victor asked for some alone time with him, so Nikki left. Nate told Victor his call seemed ominous. Victor told Nate he was the only person he could trust, explaining that his children thought he was losing his marbles. The former doctor found that hard to believe. Victor asked Nate what his daughter told him, and Nate admitted Victoria had shared her non-judgmental fears. Nate felt certain she would not use a mental lapse against him because she loved him, but Victor didn’t seem convinced.
Victor hoped all his children could be trusted and flashed back to telling Nick the truth. Victor admitted his family’s concerns might be warranted, and he swore Nate to secrecy. As they talked, Victor explained that he became concerned when he forgot about losing his grandchild. Nate suggested that Victor see a professional and offered to help Victor be seen as discretely as possible so it wouldn’t harm the company. Victor noted that neither Victoria nor Adam should know, though.
Y&R Recap: Betrayal
At Society, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) couldn’t believe Victor had faked his mental decline. However, Nick (Joshua Morrow) reassured her that it was all true. She was upset by how worried she’d been, and Nick explained he’d been relieved ultimately. Of course, Victoria realized Victor had confessed to Nick, and she was even more surprised to learn Nikki knew about it, too.
Victoria said that Adam would exploit this to get his position back, but she wouldn’t. Nick admitted that there might be a threat inside Newman, and Victoria felt certain it must be Adam. Instead, Nick said he suspected it could be Nate. He suggested that they play along with the whole thing and let Adam fall into the trap. Victoria remained adamant that Nate was not a threat, but her brother told her that Nate was one of their father’s targets.
Ultimately, Victoria agreed they should go along with their father’s plan so they could watch Adam fail. Nick shouldn’t even tell their dad what he had told Victoria. He wasn’t sure this plan would work on their brother, given how concerned he seemed, but Victoria thought that was all an act. If this scheme got rid of Adam, then bless their father for thinking of it.
Nikki showed up and joined them, relieved that everything was out in the open and sure her daughter was angry with her. Victoria knew she was in an impossible position. Nikki assured her children that their father adored them, and she blamed Adam for Victor’s trust issues. Even so, Victoria wasn’t sure she could forgive Victor.
They discussed what to do going forward. Nick said they should let Adam walk into the trap. “Or Nate,” Nikki added.
