The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, brings Nikki trying and failing to battle her demons in the wake of her terrible ordeal.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Devon got the lowdown on Nate’s firing from Victor. Nate asked Lily to hurry up and accept him back at Chancellor-Winters. Lily wasn’t thrilled to find Heather and Lucy at Daniel’s. Finally, Victoria and Cole talked Claire into a DNA test. Now, let’s dig deeper into what went down.
Hazey Days
At the ranch, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden) weren’t at all pleased to learn that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Cole (J. Eddie Peck) went to see Claire (Hayley Erin). They discussed Nikki’s ordeal, and Victor worried about her sobriety. While Nikki reassured Victor she was fine, she looked longingly at the alcohol in her living room.
She went upstairs to sleep, and a call woke her up. Nikki answered the unknown number, and nothing but a stripper tune played on the other end. Nobody spoke, and Nikki seemed shaken up.
Downstairs, Devon (Bryton James) visited Victor, and he asked the older man to explain why he’d fired Nate. Victor wasted no time in telling Devon what an ambitious snake his cousin was, and Devon seemed somewhat taken aback because Nate insisted he was merely worried about Victor’s health as a former doctor.
Nikki came downstairs, and she reiterated to Devon that Nate was a snake. Devon left, and Victor worried that Nikki looked peaked. Victor went to get Nikki some tea from the kitchen, and Nikki snuck over to the alcohol and poured herself a shot of vodka. She looked tortured as she downed it.
All In The Family
Nate (Sean Dominic) talked to Lily (Christel Khalil) at Society. He pushed her to rehire him, but Lily remained hesitant. She told her cousin that she and Devon were still considering things, which didn’t sit well with him.
At Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei), Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) was excited to move in ASAP, and Heather (Vail Bloom) gave her blessing. As Lucy (read some important facts about her here.) excitedly planned out her new bedroom, Daniel asked Heather if she was doing okay with the move. Heather reassured him that she was happy to be home in Genoa City.
Lily showed up, using her own key to let herself in, and she didn’t seem excited to see Heather. Lucy needed her mom’s help, so she stepped out, and Daniel wondered what was wrong with Lily. Lily played it off as worries over Nate and Chancellor-Winters. As she and Daniel were about to leave to get coffee, Heather came in, interrupting a kiss.
Daniel went to talk to Lucy, and Heather apologized to Lily for Lucy moving in so quickly. Heather reassured her that she wouldn’t be stepping on any toes. Nate ended up at the GCAC where he and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) had a drink.
She accused him of having an angle when it came to Victor’s health and getting Victoria back into power. However, Nate once again insisted he merely cared about Victor’s well-being, but Audra didn’t buy it. She encouraged him to consider her job offer because who knew if Devon and Lily would really trust him. Nate felt that family may end up being what saved the day for him, though.
The Ties That Bind
At the jail, Cole (read more about J. Eddie Peck’s return here) and Victoria talked to Claire. Claire wasn’t sure what to believe about her aunt’s story. She told them about her childhood, and after a lot of talking, Claire agreed to get a DNA test.
Cole and Victoria promised to help Claire no matter how the DNA test turned out. Claire didn’t have a lawyer, and she was waiting for her aunt’s help, but Victoria pointed out Jordan wouldn’t be helping. Cole agreed to help get her a lawyer.
