The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, July 19, 2023, brings a big agreement between Adam and Nick on the job front.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Sharon told Adam (Mark Grossman) he couldn’t work for her. Victor lectured Nick and Victoria. Summer got Kyle to admit the truth about sleeping with Audra, and Daniel didn’t buy his mom’s explanation of what was going on between her and Tucker. Now let’s dig deeper into what went down.
Young and the Restless: Brotherly Bonding
Sharon (Sharon Case) refused to allow Adam to merely come work with her because that would make her look weak. Instead, she asked him to go along with Victor’s plan, so that she, Nick, and Adam could get revenge by being so successful that they have to have autonomy.
Later, Chance (Conner Floyd) and Sharon flirted, and he had a tough time not kissing her. He watched her as she worked, and he gave Sharon a raincheck on ditching work for lunch. She updated Chance on her discussion with Adam, and she declared she wouldn’t let Adam make her business become collateral in Adam’s war against Victor. Chance reminded her that Adam and Nick needed her more than she needed them.
At the ranch, Victor (Eric Braeden) talked with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle). She was all for her dad’s plan, while Nick wasn’t thrilled. Victor made it clear that he was in charge and hadn’t done what he did for Victoria’s benefit. He also told Nick that he’d “get over” not liking the way things went down.
Victor insisted that Nick make Adam see reason, and Nick thought his dad’s plan was insane, but Victor said he trusted his oldest son. Nick left, and Victor ordered Victoria to stay. He warned his daughter to be careful, but she insisted she learned everything from him, and Victor admitted he was proud of her.
At Chancellor Park, Nick and Adam talked. Adam was resistant to Nick helping him run Adustus, but Nick advised his brother to consider all the possibilities and do better than his instincts. Ultimately, Adam reluctantly gave in to working with Nick and Sharon together under Victor’s thumb.
Young and the Restless Recap: The Truth
Summer (Allison Lanier) interrupted Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) as they prepared to leave the GCAC for the office. Summer insisted Kyle stick around and talk.
After some back and forth where Kyle smirked and acted like a jerk, she made him admit he’d slept with Audra. When he admitted it without remorse, Summer cried about what a fool she’d been, and then she slapped him and walked away.
In the park, Audra ran into Tucker (Trevor St. John), and they verbally sparred a bit. He made a comment about her “new little friend,” and they parted.
Y&R Recap: Suspicious Minds
At Society, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) didn’t love everybody’s eyes on her, but Daniel (Michael Grazaidei) reminded her that she was lucky to be out on bail. Although Phyllis admitted she wanted to make amends to everyone — including Diane — Daniel didn’t quite buy it. He wondered if his mom was for real.
Summer walked up, upset, but she wanted to focus on Phyllis. They discussed Phyllis’s prospects for acquittal, and she worried about Christine. She warned her children she might live her life in prison no matter how good they felt about her case.
They continued planning as Tucker walked in. Daniel caught a pointed look between his mom and Tucker and demanded to know what it was. Phyllis denied it was anything. She tried to change the subject to Summer’s woes, but her daughter left for work instead, after lobbing an insult about her mom faking her death.
After she left, Phyllis admitted she could only fix herself and nobody else. Daniel again wondered why his mom sounded so evolved. Phyllis promised she learned from her mistakes and would do better.
As soon as Daniel left, Phyllis walked over to Tucker’s table. She wanted to know what he was doing, and he reminded her that he was the reason she was out of jail. Tucker asked for reassurance that Phyllis would follow through on their arrangement, and he threatened her if she didn’t follow through.
