The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, July 27, 2023, brings Billy jumping on an opportunity to kick off their big game against Tucker and Ashley.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, a tearful Lauren was all over the place with her feelings when she finally saw Phyllis again. She wasn’t the only one who had a strong reaction to seeing her as Jack was not happy, which displeased Tucker. Meanwhile, Chelsea tried to perk up poor Summer but it was really Chance who was the one Summer seemed to appreciate. Now let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: Diane Lays The Groundwork
Diane (Susan Walters) rubbed it in Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) face that she wasn’t successful in getting rid of her and in fact, she and Jack were getting married today. Diane also greased the path for Billy by claiming he wasn’t happy with Jack now. After telling Diane off, Ashley took off. Jack (Peter Bergman) arrived and Diane told him what happened with Ashley. Kyle (Michael Mealor) arrived and they told him they were getting married. He wondered what was really going on, but eventually told his parents he already had plans and wouldn’t be at their wedding.
Earlier, Jack was arranging the celebration at GCAC and was shocked to see Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) but quickly bounced back and questioned her. It was obvious he wasn’t happy with her, nor would he forgive her, which Tucker (Trevor St. John) noted. It caused Tucker to wonder if Phyllis was going to be of any use to him. After he walked away, Lauren (Tracey Bergman) approached. She said she raged at what she’s done and put her through, but the two women hugged. She told Phyllis to listen to Heather and Phyllis told her about her trouble with Tucker and the witness. Phyllis was determined to find his weak spot and warned she may have to tap into OG Phyllis — and then she’ll create her new life.
Young and the Restless Recap: Billy Jumps Into Character
Billy (Jason Thompson) caught up with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and enjoyed hearing how great things are with her new job. He confided the “big plan” to her, and she worried he could backslide. He ran into Ashley and Tucker and continued the plan that he’s now questioning Jack’s actions.
Ashley ate it up. He beat them back to the house and updated Diane and Jack before Ashley and Tucker walked in. Ashley said how she was happy Billy was now on her side and Billy acted like he didn’t appreciate Ashley letting that slip out. Game on.
Y&R Recap: Summer Receives Good Advice
Earlier Summer (Allison Lanier) and Kyle had an awkward interaction at the park. She asked after Harrison and Kyle said he was handling their breakup fine. Audra (Zuleyka Silver) happened upon them and the two women got a little catty, annoying Kyle. After Summer walked off with a warning about Audra, the other woman told Kyle she understood things better. She admitted having loved Noah and she learned how dangerous love could be. Later the two went back to her room and she blindfolded him before sex.
Summer ran into Chance (Conner Floyd) at Crimson Lights and he could relate to her having a hard time. Chelsea arrived and felt bad intruding, but Chance had to take off. Chelsea offered to listen to Summer if she wanted to vent, which she did. Chelsea felt she was stronger than she realized. Later, Summer ran into Chance again at the park and lamented she wished things would go back to the way they were. He suggested the best way out is forward.
