Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Summer (Allison Lanier) smells something fishy and figures out that Audra and Kyle are sleeping together. Nate updates Audra on Victor’s latest plans. Heather pleads Phyllis’s case unsuccessfully to Christine. Finally, Daniel worries to Lily that the other shoe will drop soon. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.

Young and the Restless: The Smell Test

Summer showed up at the Abbott mansion, and she asked Diane (Susan Walters) how Kyle reacted to learning Phyllis was arrested. Diane and Summer disagreed about Phyllis’s motivations. Summer was surprised to learn that Kyle had gone out.

Diane reminded Summer that they were all Phyllis’s victims. Summer realized Kyle didn’t know that Phyllis had turned herself in, and Diane suggested maybe Kyle went looking for her. Summer didn’t have any messages from her husband, and Diane said she’d told Kyle not to give up on his marriage. Then, Summer admitted that she wanted Kyle back, and Diane told her it wasn’t too late.

They discussed what Old Diane and Old Summer would have done, and Summer let her mother-in-law know about how she tricked Kyle into marrying him by helping Lola. Ultimately, Diane told Summer she’d learned some hard truths.

Kyle (Michael Mealor) showed up at Audra’s (Zuleyka Silver) room, and they immediately hit the sheets. After they agreed that it was amazing, Audra waited to hear from Nate (Sean Dominic), which made Kyle realize she was in work mode. Later, the topic of Summer came up, and Audra asked some pointed questions, but Kyle wasn’t concerned about his wife.

After, Audra asked Kyle to be discreet, and she tried to send Kyle on his way. She let Kyle know Tucker had seen his texts to her, which worried him. As Kyle left, Nate was about to knock on the door, and he was surprised to see Kyle in Audra’s room.

Nate let Audra know Kyle was none of his business, and then he gave her game-changing news about Victor’s latest plans. He stopped telling her the details, insisting that they discuss it over dinner. Downstairs, he told Audra about Victor’s plans to reorganize everything. They toasted to their bright futures.

Kyle went home and was shocked to see Summer there. She told Kyle that Phyllis had turned herself in and she wanted to talk alone. Kyle wasn’t interested, and then Summer smelled perfume on Kyle and asked if he’d been with somebody else. He told her goodnight instead of answering, and she left.

Kyle told his mom he got a new job at Newman Media, and Diane was stunned. Diane worried it was a ploy from Victor, and he told her Audra hired him. She worried it was too early to make major life moves, but Kyle didn’t think so. He wanted to make his mark without being known as Jack Abbott’s son. An upset Summer walked into the GCAC, and she walked over to Audra and Nate. She seemed stunned when she smelled the woman, putting two and two together.

Young and the Restless Recap: The Other Shoe

Daniel (Michael Grazaidei) and Lily (Christel Khalil) discussed Phyllis’s arrest, and he wasn’t so sure his mom was telling the truth. He felt that Carson turning up was too convenient, and he pointed out that it seemed his mother was acting. Lily had lots of sympathy for Daniel.

Later, Daniel asked about Lily’s chat with Nate, and she admitted it didn’t go well. She just couldn’t see why Nate couldn’t see that Victoria was wrong for him. Lily worried that the Newmans would use Nate and spit him out.

In the end, Daniel thanked Lily for listening and helping distract him, and she thanked him for helping make her move special. Daniel got an update on the arraignment, and he predicted that a bigger storm was coming his way.

Y&R Recap: Too Convenient

Heather (Vail Bloom) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) met at the GCAC. She updated Christine a bit about Paul, but soon Heather turned their discussion to Phyllis’s case. She told Christine the charges should be dropped.

After some talk, Christine was surprised that Phyllis planned to turn herself in without knowing Carson came forward. She wanted to know how Phyllis found out the EMT was talking. Christine didn’t buy that Phyllis was on the up and up, and Heather accused her of being unable to give Phyllis the benefit of the doubt.
