The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, August 1, 2023, brings Abby calling out Ashley after she has absolutely no wedding plans.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Phyllis goes to Adam (Mark Grossman) for help while Summer leans on Chance. Plus, Lily tries to distract Daniel from his mom’s woes. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: Ashley’s Lack Of Plans
Abby wasn’t on board with her mom’s war with the family. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) tried to get her daughter to her side, but Abby wouldn’t hear it. She accused Ashley of wanting Diane to bring down Jabot just so she’d be right, which offended Ashley.
Devon (Bryton James) tried to reason with Ashley by mentioning his drama with Lily, but Tucker (Trevor St. John) and Ashley thought the situation was different. Abby called out her mom for leaving the company to start a competing company instead of fighting the battle from the inside. Ultimately, Devon suggested they all stop with the family drama and focus on planning the wedding.
Tucker thanked Devon for helping Ashely focus on something else. He had a big question for his son, though. Tucker wanted Devon to be his best man, and it was Devon’s honor to agree to stand up for his dad.
Abby asked her mom several questions about the wedding, and Ashley had no answers. She accused her mom of marrying Tucker to get back at her enemies. Ashley denied it. After Tucker and Ashley left, Abby told Devon that Ashley was pushing the feud and she may not be able to come back from it.
Young and the Restless Recap: Housewarming
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) showed up at Adam’s new place with a housewarming gift — a cactus which she said symbolized their future working relationship. She really wanted Adam to tell her how Nick and Sharon reacted to him hiring her. He told her that they weren’t pleased with him but came around to the idea of Phyllis working there to rehab her image and help her kids.
However, Phyllis had another reason for her visit. She wanted Adam’s help with Tucker, but Adam shocked her by saying no. He couldn’t afford to have any shady dealings while Victor scrutinized him. That wasn’t it, though, Adam wanted details, and Phyllis wasn’t quite forthcoming.
Ultimately, she offered to work for free for six months, which helped Adam figure out what Tucker had on Phyllis. Tucker had Phyllis’s freedom in his hands. He admired Phyllis’s ability to keep playing poker even with a lousy hand, and he agreed to think about helping her.
At Crimson Lights, Chance (Conner Floyd) got Summer (Allison Lanier) to confide in him. She worried about facing charges, but Chance didn’t think that would happen. Summer wished Chance was the District Attorney, but he laughed at that.
She ranted about Kyle sleeping with Audra, but Chance didn’t have any advice, especially given how his marriage ended. She hadn’t even thought about that and apologized. He sympathized with Summer, though. She wondered how he was able to accept the situation and forgive, but Chance didn’t have one specific thing to tell her.
All Summer could do was take it one day at a time. She realized she needed to let her mom deal with her own life, and Summer wanted to focus on fixing her own. Summer thanked Chance for the friend-to-friend talk.
Y&R Recap: Still Life
Lily (Christel Khalil) called Daniel (Michael Graziadei) to his hotel room for a big surprise. She had easels set up and a bowl of fruit for them to draw to get his mind off Phyllis’s woes. Daniel wasn’t feeling it, though.
Ultimately, Lily stripped herself down, offering to let Daniel draw her, and that piqued his interest. It appeared as if Daniel was quite inspired, and Lily liked what she saw when he finished. When it was Lily’s turn, things got hot and heavy, but she stopped it to draw him as a stick figure before they enjoyed some adult time.
When they finished, Daniel decided to draw Lily again. He thanked her for taking his mind off his mom.
