Young kids shouldn’t have to go through hardships but in life, sometimes, it’s inevitable. Though The Young and the Restless’ Paxton Mishkind (Johnny) and his family are fighting one of their own, the young actor is taking the opportunity to help others by sharing their story.

In a recent Instagram post, Mishkind appeared in a photo alongside his beautiful mom and shared another slide that read, “October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Know your risk! Get screened! Know your normal! Make healthy choices! Take action! Pink together, strong forever!”

He went on to explain why this is so important to him and revealed, “My mom was diagnosed this year and thanks to so many advances she is doing well.” He wanted to take this time to help spread the word, by using the message in his second photo, and let everyone know, by telling his own story, that they are not alone.

The CBS soap was the first to send the family its love in the form of a heart emoji and Judah Mackey, who plays Mishkind’s character’s onscreen half-brother Connor, stated, “Your mom is such a warrior! We’re here for you guys.” The soap’s publicist, Matt Kane, jumped in and expressed, “You’re a good son to a great mom!” to which Mishkind replied, “Thank you so much.”

We will keep Mishkind’s mom and entire family in our thoughts and wish her the very best as she courageously fights a battle that affects so many.
