Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Sharon Rosales’s romantic life may start to perk up, now that she and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) are getting closer. The actress who plays the soap character recently had an opportunity to talk to The Locher Room, and she unpacked a heartbreaking storyline that still shakes her to this very day: the passing of Sharon’s daughter Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes).
The Young And The Restless – Sharon Case Still Remembers Where She Was When She Found Out The News
Case reveals during the YouTube show that she still remembers where she was when she heard the news that Cassie was going to be killed off. She was in the hair and makeup room, and so was Camryn Grimes. Case notes that both she and Grimes were “devastated” when they heard the news that the young girl would be killed off. As Sharon puts it, “we all were (devastated)”, “it was hard”.
Case notes that it was a challenging time for everyone involved, for quite some time. She reveals that the actors knew about Cassie’s death about three to four weeks prior to filming those final scenes. Sharon states that they all had to go into work daily, knowing that Cassie’s end days were growing near.

It sounds like Sharon, along with actor Josh Morrow (Nick Newman) struggled for a long while, missing both Cassie in storylines and Camryn on set. The good news is, Cassie would visit Genoa City now and again as a “ghost”, but the even bigger silver lining was the plot twist that occurred in 2014 when it turned out that Cassie had a twin sister in Mariah Copeland.
Case said it was a “sad story” with a “happy spin”. Sharon also notes that “Mariah is fun”, and “we love her”. Copeland has become a fan favorite on the show!
