The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, July 6, 2023, brings an admission from the great Victor Newman that he can’t do everything on his own and needs his eldest’s son’s help.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Sally tried to move forward, Chelsea tried not to look back, Adam was full steam ahead, and Audra enjoyed toying with people, but she was also on the other end of things with Victor. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.

Young and the Restless Recap: Adam Reaches Out

Adam (Mark Grossman) slipped a note under Sally’s (Courtney Hope) door before Nick (Joshua Morrow) arrived to see her. Nick once again stuck up for Adam to Sally. He also told her that Adam said what she did — that he wasn’t there for Sally when she needed him. Nick also updated Sally about Victoria (Amelia Heinle) asking him to step away and that he suspects he won’t have a job to return to. He was not worried because he will use the time to take care of the people he cares about. Sally mentioned she’s been avoiding Chloe’s calls. Nick encouraged her to reach out.

Victor (Eric Braeden) tested Audra (Zuleika Silver) and warned her that Adam has declared war on Newman Media. She asked why he’s playing both sides, as the one who owns McCall Unlimited. He told her not to worry about his angle — just pay attention to what Adam is up to because he doesn’t want him taking over Newman Media.

Y&R Recap: Audra Plays Games

After Victor left, Audra got the delivery from Kyle as Summer (Allison Lanier) arrived. Audra explained her new position, but Summer noted that she got jewelry too — her Aunt Victoria must be very impressed. Audra asked if she was staying there and Summer said it’s temporary — much like Audra’s new job. Ouch.

After Summer’s exit, Adam arrived and Audra said she was warned about him. He bet she never listened to a warning in her life. Later, she saw Adam at the bar and they played cat-and-mouse guessing games with each other, including Audra realizing Adam was waiting for a woman. Adam noted she was not loyal and wanted to know if she may betray her bosses once again. She let it go and did another dig about the woman not coming. He told her she underestimated him and he hoped she was ready for the battle of her life.

Young and the Restless Recap: Victor Needs Nick’s Help

Victor met with Nick at Society, mostly to tell him his forced break was against his and Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) wishes. Victor admitted the reason for the meeting was he needed his help with Adam — who just wants to share his grief with Sally. Nick said he’s always had a blind spot with Adam, and Victor admitted that may be true, but he was worried. Nick asked what he wanted. Victor begged him to go work with Adam at McCall.

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) was enjoying a meal with Billy (Jason Thompson) at the GCAC. First Daniel (Michael Graziadei) stopped by with good news about her game, and then she received an unexpected job offer of Creative Director at Marchetti from Summer. Daniel took Summer aside to ask what was going on and she dropped the bomb about splitting from Kyle. Summer was optimistic they’d reconcile, but he suggested, as someone who’s been through it, she be more realistic. Later, Daniel visited Summer in her hotel room and spilled that he texted Phyllis about her and Kyle’s separation.

Y&R Recap: A Choice For Chelsea

At Crimson Lights, Billy called Jack (Peter Bergman) to complain about no courtesy call regarding yet another Jabot staffing change but got the lowdown on Kyle and Summer. He updated Chelsea. She asked his opinion on the offer and he was excited for them to work near each other. Chelsea was worried about the pressure of the position with Summer. He suggested she think about it as Chloe arrived. Billy remarked on her good timing as he was leaving. Chelsea updated her friend on her news. Chloe didn’t feel like she could weigh in since she let Chelsea down when she needed her most. Chelsea told her she wasn’t responsible for her depression and that she pushed her away.

Determined to be a better friend, Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) showed up shortly after receiving Sally’s text and the two hugged. Chloe tried to be supportive, having also lost a child. Sally admitted she may not be ready to return to work and Chloe was understanding. Sally seemed a bit bored and agreed a distraction might be good so Chloe updated her on their work with Chancellor-Winters. It was a bit overwhelming for Sally.

When Sally came up with a great idea, Chloe saw a look cross her face and told her that a moment of happiness was not a betrayal of her daughter. Sally thanked her and agreed to a meeting with Lily and Devon. After Chloe left, Sally read the note from Adam, in which he said he was waiting downstairs until noon if she wanted to talk.
