The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday, August 22, finally bring a trio of conflicts to a boil: Diane and Kyle, Sally and Adam, and Billy and the world.
A Mother’s Love
No one denies that Kyle (Michael Mealor) has a very, very good reason to be angry with Diane (Susan Walters). She faked her death and let him grow up without a mother. That’s monstrous. That’s unforgivable. And, yet, Kyle forgave Diane in the blink of an eye.
They were going to be one small, happy family: Daddy, Mommy, and Kyle. But Kyle isn’t mad at Diane for abandoning him. Kyle is mad at Diane for bossing him around. When she was, um, his boss.
Kyle will not take orders from a superior! That is just not how things are done in business. Kyle is a big-boy businessman who got all his jobs all by himself, so he knows these things. Diane, who got her job at Jabot thanks to nepotism, just doesn’t understand. He keeps saying it and saying it. Finally, Diane has had enough. And she goes to Kyle, metaphorical hat in hand, to beg her son’s forgiveness…for the wrong thing.
Truth Be Told
Sally (Courtney Hope) knows that Adam (Mark Grossman) is lying to her, no matter how many times he denies it. Her and Adam’s relationship has failed once before thanks to his lies, lies that Adam claims he told to protect her. She would really prefer not to go through that again, which is why she’s pushing for the truth, no matter how much it might upset her.
Billy Meets World
Billy (Jason Thompson) is convinced that everyone is against him, which is true. But only because he deserves it. He’s alienated everyone who might have been on his side. But that’s okay. Billy is more intelligent than them all, so he will continue slashing and burning his way across Genoa City. They’ll see. They’ll all see. And they’ll all be sorry.
