Victor Newman may be the baddest bad-ass who has ever bad-assed on The Young and the Restless. But, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. And Victor’s weakest link is basically his security team. Who hired his guys? Who trained them? And, who signed off on their employment?
Young and the Restless: Dazed and Confused
Victor (Eric Braeden) acted like the security guard found bound, gagged, and stripped after Cameron (Linden Ashby) made off with his uniform was just a bad apple. He growled, “I fired his ass,” and made it sound like the problem was solved. When that screw-up was only the beginning.
Y&R: Corporate Espionage
We had our doubts about the folks Victor hired years ago when Adam (Mark Grossman) somehow made it so that he could threaten to blow up the Newman Enterprises headquarters. But, at the time, we figured Victor didn’t care all that much about his employees. He can shrug, pay off their families, and hire new worker bees if they get killed. But, we did think he cared about his family.
Young and the Restless: Ranch Hands
Except, it turns out he cut corners there, too. Cameron was able to sneak onto the Newman property to not only poison Faith’s (Reylynn Caster) cat but to sneak up on Sharon (Sharon Case) and, according to Nick (Joshua Morrow), DIG AN ENTIRE TUNNEL INTO SHARON’S HOUSE THAT NO ONE NOTICED OR HEARD BEING CONSTRUCTED. And, oh, yeah, Faith was kidnapped on her way to the airport. With one of Victor’s security experts.
Young and Restless: Human Resources
Sure, Victor is going to fire him too. But, I think what we need here is a deep dive into Victor’s hiring practices. We know Victor believes he’s invulnerable, so why does he need good security? He can get away with going cheap. But the last few days have definitely proven him wrong. We hope he’s humble enough to admit it and fix the situation!
