We don’t blame Shawn Brady for spiraling on Days of our Lives. He shot his dad, and now Bo is in a coma. That can really mess with a guy’s head. Especially when Victor pretty much blamed Shawn for the whole thing. So he’s hitting the bottle to feel better. But that’s not a long-term solution. Who will get through to the guilty gent? We have a couple of suggestions.
Shawn Brady: Belle of the Ball
Obviously, it should be his wife. But Shawn (Brandon Beemer) is pushing Belle (Martha Madison) away. He doesn’t want to hear what she has to say, and he certainly doesn’t want to hear what she thinks he should be doing. So they’re at a stalemate. And that’s not good for any marriage.
Days of our Lives: Been There, Done That
Brady (Eric Marstolf) has ridden that addiction roller-coaster. And he’s managed to get off. Maybe Brady can reach out to his brother-in-law and talk Shawn through pulling the plug before it’s too late. He cares about Shawn, he cares about Belle…and he has nothing better to do now that Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) is with Xander (Paul Telfer), and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) is missing in action.
Shawn Brady: The Aunts Go Marching One By One
Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) is Brady’s sponsor, so maybe she could play the same role for Shawn. More importantly, Maggie is married to Shawn’s grandfather, Victor (John Aniston), the one who sent Shawn over the edge in the first place. Maggie can first get Victor to lay off, maybe even apologize, and then she can talk Shawn off the ledge.
DOOL: Professional Help
Brady and Maggie are amateurs. Marlena (Dedire Hall) is a professional. Sure, nobody likes getting advice from their mother-in-law. But might Marlena be Shawn’s last hope? She’s working with Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) now. And he’s a much bigger mess than Shawn. For now.
