Why Y&R Spoilers Will Show Danny Must Keep His Distance From Phyllis

We understand why Y&R spoilers show that Danny feels he needs to be polite to Phyllis. She is the mother of his child. Sure, Phyllis lied about Danny being Daniel’s father, broke up his marriage to Christine, and may have killed a woman to keep the truth from getting out. But he will eventually realize the brutal truth.

Y&R Spoilers Speculation: Run While You Can

Sure, yeah, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is the mother of his son. That requires a polite nod when they pass each other on the street and a pasted-on smile at birthdays, graduations, and holidays. So why are we afraid that Danny (Michael Damian) is contemplating something more? Here are three reasons why he absolutely should not and will not.

Past Performance

Phyllis is a nut-case. No, really, even if you took her lies about Daniel’s paternity completely out of the equation, she would still be a nut-case. And not in a wacky, quirky, eccentric way. But in a should be in jail and away from decent people sort of way. Neither Danny, nor Daniel, nor Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) need that in their lives. Ever.

If Danny were to reconcile with Phyllis, he’d be sending the message that unforgivable things are forgivable. Danny and Phyllis were basically in an abusive relationship, with Phyllis as the abuser and Danny as the victim. Does Danny really need to set the example for his young and impressionable granddaughter that it’s ok to go back to your abuser as long as she promises to change? This time. For good. Really.

Better Days

But the most important reason for Danny not to reconcile with Phyllis is simple: He can do better. Who needs Phyllis when Christine (Lauralee Bell) is there? The woman who Phyllis drove Danny away from. Danny and Christine reconciling would send a better message: You can still sometimes get a failed relationship right. As long as neither party is a nut-case psycho.
