In August 2019, Women’s Health published a profile about the celebrated and famous dancer. When Julianne Hough spoke to the outlet for the profile, she revealed the truth about her sexuality.
When she was interviewed by Women’s Health, Julianne was still married to Brooks Laich. While speaking to the outlet, Julianne described the moment she told her then ex-husband that she isn’t straight.
“I [told him], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’”
From there, Julianne told Women’s Health that her ex-husband was surprised to learn that she isn’t straight. However, Julianne then revealed what she said next to her ex-husband.
I was like, ‘I’m not [straight]. But I choose to be with you.’”
Thankfully for Julianne, she went on to tell Women’s Health that she was revealing her truth because she’d grown to feel safe enough to be honest. “I’m unpacking all of this, and there’s no fear of voicing things that I’ve been afraid to admit or that I’ve had shame or guilt about because of what I’ve been told or how I was raised.”
