Tom Schwartz has been in the news quite a bit due to the announcement that Vanderpump Rules is being recast. Many are wondering what he’ll do next and how this change will impact his friendship with Tom Sandoval. Now, he’s opening up about dating, potentially joining The Valley, and much more in a new interview.

Sadly, both Toms have also been in the headlines due to their restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s, closing down at the end of last year. The restaurant first opened in 2022.

Recently, Tom appeared on the LadyGang podcast and had a fairly extensive conversation. One of the first notable topics that arose was his dating life. When asked if he currently has a girlfriend, Tom said, “Um, I had the most insane two years of my life, and that’s not me being a crying victim or anything. I did a lot of it to myself. But I just, dating is like the last thing on my mind.”

Still, he did share that there is someone. According to him, “There’s someone I really enjoy hanging out with. But yeah. Sorry for the lame answer.”

His best friend and business partner also came up, and the host wanted to know his thoughts about Tom being on The Traitors. He responded, “I’m loving Traitors. This is my first season. I like how earnest or how seriously he takes everything. You know, he’s so unintentionally funny. Sorry, Tom, if you see this. He’s so unintentionally funny in Traitors.”

Tom added, “Those pit stains were remarkable.”

They also brought up The Valley, which has many connections to Vanderpump Rules. When asked if he would join the show, Tom explained, “First of all, I love The Valley. And I’m friends with all of those people. Listen, if they want me, I would be happy to be a part of it. I love that cast. Those are my friends, so it’s weird to call them a cast.”

Tom went on, “I think The Valley is such a good show, and from what I’m hearing, they’re gearing up for one of the rawest, just most heartfelt seasons ever.”

Being on a reality show means there are always going to be misconceptions. People get an idea of who reality stars are from their shows, but this isn’t always accurate. For Tom, he said the biggest misconceptions are, “That I don’t have a spine. And that I’m wishy-washy. Mr. Switzerland.”

He elaborated by saying, “That I’m not motivated, that well, listen, back in the day, I was a bit of a douche. I was sloppy. I’ve been watching here and there, sporadically watching old episodes of Vanderpump Rules, and I’m just watching myself. Oh my God.”

He then said, “I’m diplomatic, and I’m compassionate, and I love that I think I’m pretty good at putting myself in other people’s shoes to a fault. Sometimes, I think I need to speak my mind a little more.”

The topic of Tom one day having children also came up. He opened up and became vulnerable by saying, “I would say it’s probably the biggest void in my life. I don’t want to get too emotional, but yeah, I want to have kids. I want to have two kids, and I want to live on my property.”

Toward the end, they asked Tom about his new podcast and his plans for it. Specifically, the hosts wanted to know if it would be about the “new era of Tom.” He responded, “Yeah, there’s going to be a little bit of that. Yeah, it’s about balance, about the yin and the yang in life. It’s about the detox and the retox.”

He went on, “One week we’ll have guests on, and we’ll nourish the mind, body, soul, you know what I mean? Maybe some hot yoga, some Bikram, some transcendental meditation.”

He then said, “I’m not an expert in anything. I’ll be learning with the audience. And then the next week, you know, we’re keeping together so maybe we can fall apart a little bit, have a cheat day, indulge a little bit, you know?”

Tom also shared that the podcast is called “Detox Retox.”
