Season 17 Has Been Historical (& Not In A Good Way)
Married At First Sight season 17 opened on a subpar note, with groom Michael Shiakallis being left at the altar. This was the first runaway bride in the history of the series. Michael was waiting at the altar for his bride, wearing the crown and sword she gifted him. “My biggest fear is when she sees me, and lays eyes on me, if it’s clear that maybe she’s not really attracted to me,” he told producers. His nightmare seemed to come true when his potential bride, whose face was never shown, walked down the aisle, saw him, and ran away.
None Of The Season 17 Cast Members Seem Attracted To Each Other Enough
Though most of the Married At First Sight season 17 couples seemed happy on their wedding days, none of them were attracted to each other enough to sustain a relationship. Becca Haley is ready to explore a physical relationship with Austin Reed, but he’s not ready to join her. Brennan Shoykhet seems to be more embarrassed by Emily Balch than attracted to her. Chloe Brown is openly turned off by Michael’s gender-nonconforming style. Orion Martzloff and Lauren Goodger didn’t make it through the honeymoon, and Cameron Frazer had zero chemistry with Clare Kerr.
Which Season 17 Couples Say Yes On Decision Day
Of the three remaining Married At First Sight season 17 couples, it’s unlikely that any will survive Decision Day. Although they initially seemed to have great chemistry together, Brennan started pulling away from Emily during their honeymoon in Cancun and never got back on the same page. While Becca and Austin had good moments, they had several serious issues, including their different views on sex. Their problems should have been obvious from the start when they refused to talk about serious subjects. Finally, Chloe is unlikely to get over her “icks” for Michael.
