Seeing beloved characters on screen again will simply melt our hearts.

While Grey’s Anatomy ended season 19 and now is preparing its next season, the fans of the medical drama are speculating on who they want to bring back to the show and how. As we all know, some of the main characters decided to stop being a part of the show.

At some point, some actors just wanted to pause their time in a long-running series for different reasons. But the fans are still hoping to see them again. And maybe their hopes are not vain.

Sure, as we mentioned, the one character that is missed most of all is Meredith. She left the show after the finale of season 18. And for the first time ever, the whole next season lacked the all-time favorite Meredith.

Ellen Pompeo’s character’s departure from the show was explained by her decision to move from Seattle to Boston to continue her Alzheimer’s research. But the actress has already confirmed that she will return to the show, but this time not as a leading character.

And what would help her come back is actually this research. Given how important it is – not only to Meredith, but to the show in general, – it will continue to be a major focus in season 20.

Another character that can easily be brought back to the show is Addison Montgomery, who was brilliantly portrayed by Kate Walsh for many seasons. Although she was no longer a major character after season 3 of the series, she continued to appear on the show.

Addison returned briefly in Grey’s Anatomy season 18 and made a full comeback for five episodes in season 19, making it possible for her to return again in season 20 to continue helping the Grey Sloan crew.

Come on, a girl can dream. We really, really want our faves back in Grey’s Anatomy season 20.
