After nearly a quarter-century, J. Eddie Peck’s (Cole Howard) return to Y&R became part of the mix when he arrived at the lake house in Oregon.
The pretense that lured him involved Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) being distressed. But viewers know that lie was necessary to draw him to what Claire recently termed a family reunion.

It has been years since Nikki was drinking. She had no urges to do so but found herself plied with liquor, vodka, to be exact.
Claire put a little something into Nikki’s glass after they arrived at what was proposed to be a meeting with her admiring aunt. That potion knocked Claire’s until-then secretly loathed boss out cold.
Later, Nikki’s presumed personal assistant hooked her up to an intravenous feeding tube and dumped generic vodka into the bag. Suddenly, Nikki was drunk again, and after pulling herself out of bed, she could not resist the urge to finish the bottle that was fiendishly put on a silver platter.

Eve Howard (Margaret Mason) was Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) secretary starting in 1981. She fell for him and eventually claimed he was the father of her son, Cole. But Rick Daros (Randy Holland) was Cole’s father.
Much mayhem ensued through the years, with Eve and Rick being unstable. Both were confined to psychiatric facilities. That happens when trying to kill people, which winks at the current storyline. Eventually, both characters left for Europe.
Eve returned to GC in 1993 but died. So, Jordan, being Eve’s sister, follows the careful storyline build in recent weeks and opens various possibilities. But the apparent lie she told Claire, about Victoria and Cole abandoning her at birth, jeopardizes the goal because Erin’s character may turn on her.

Considering all the moving parts and recent information, Grace might be Claire’s middle name. She would not be using Howard because Jordan is her revealed relative. Cloaking her identity until calling Victoria mother was necessary.
Having Erin’s character be Cole and Victoria’s daughter, Eve, is shocking. That child was presumed to have died shortly after birth in 1998. Cole and Victoria (then played by Heather Tom) were married then. If Claire is telling the truth and DNA tests confirm that reality, she will likely become a fixture rather than a short-term villain on Y&R.
