The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will need another romantic story direction soon. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) cheated on Elena with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), so Elena will thankfully put him in the rearview mirror.
Dumping Nate is the right decision, but that’ll leave Elena single and adrift in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of available love interests on canvas, so that limits Elena’s options a bit moving forward.
It’s possible the show will cast a new man for Elena, but it seems more likely they’ll work with the cast they’ve already got.
With that in mind, who might Elena’s next love interest be?
There are hints that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) might reunite with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), which could open the door for Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) to fall for someone like Elena.
Then again, Elena and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) might work since the show’s seemingly teased the possibility of them being paired up before.
That would mean ending Noah’s romance with Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang), but it’s still an option to mull over.
However, the easiest and most logical move would probably be to inch Elena back in Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) direction.
Devon still cares a great deal about Elena and will no doubt have sympathy when he finds out Nate betrayed her with Victoria.
Y&R fans know Elena and Nate first got together by cheating on Devon, but Devon has done his fair share of cheating and has no room to talk.
Devon certainly won’t think Elena deserves this kind of treatment from Nate – no matter what mistakes she’s made in the past.
Once Devon gets updates on Elena’s heartbreak, it’s easy to imagine him pulling her into a warm embrace.
Will Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) catch Elena in Devon’s comforting arms?
An Abby, Devon and Elena love triangle would work well since Devon could use an obstacle in his relationship with Abby.
Devon and Abby are another couple that got together through cheating, so the possibility of Devon betraying her with Elena may become Abby’s new fear.
