In this retro The Young and the Restless recap, it’s Wednesday, November 24, 2021, and Phyllis Summers is dreaming that everyone in Genoa City owes her a thank-you. What would anyone do without her? Phyllis lives in terror of the world finding out!

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Phyllis and Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) have broken up, Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King) is in Italy with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), and her oldest son, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), wants nothing to do with her.

So Phyllis hits the sack early. And dreams that Gloria — sorry, Golden Glo (Judith Chapman) — plays the role of Clarence, the It’s a Wonderful Life angel, to show Phyllis why everyone owes her a thank you.

It Takes Two To Tango

Gloria pops Phyllis into the coffee house, where Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) not only thanks Phyllis for being so supportive of her cancer battle earlier in the year, but also leads all the homeless getting their Thanksgiving dinner at the coffeehouse in a round of applause for Phyllis, the bestest volunteer ever!

Peace On Earth

Next, Gloria brings Phyllis to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott), where Nick also shows up so all three can shower Phyllis with compliments about how it was her pointing out their family’s dysfunction that made them get it together, and now they’re a united clan. Bless you, Phyllis!

The Other Woman

Phyllis’s subsequent stop is Thanksgiving with the Abbotts, where matters take a bit of a turn when Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Traci (Beth Maitland) toast the new woman in Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) life — it’s none other than Gloria, herself!

Phyllis doesn’t like this dream anymore…but Glo reminds her this is Phyllis’s dream, so this is her subconscious. Phyllis rushes back to appeal to Traci, at least, but none of the Abbots have any room for her at the table.

The Other Man

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is up next in dreamland. He and Phyllis skim the surface of their affair, which broke up her and Jack, and then get into how wonderful Phyllis is. Yeah, this is definitely her dream. Billy is about to offer Phyllis the secret to her happiness, but Glo pulls her away…and a knock on the door wakes Phyllis up.

Y&R: Dinner Time!

It’s a Thanksgiving meal! For Phyllis! Ordered by Jack! Who calls to show off the Wi-Fi on the Abbott private jet. And then suggests they have Thanksgiving together — remotely. How very 2021 of him.
