The Young And The Restless Actor Eric Braeden Shares He Was Misdiagnosed And Is Now Being Treated For Bladder Cancer…

The soap vet gave details so that other men can be warned.

Eric Braeden shares health update with his fans

Actor Eric Braeden 82 seems to his fans to be as indestructible as his character Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless. The veteran actor keeps physically fit and has shared many times via social media when he is working out in the gym or exercising or walking.

Both the television character and the portrayer appear invincible which is why Braeden’s followers were stunned at the end of 2022 when he revealed that he had to have knee replacement surgery. The soap vet never missed a beat on Y&R and appeared to be recovering well but now he has revealed an additional challenge which is the diagnosis of bladder cancer.

Victor Newman has his hands full with his children

On The Young and the Restless Victor is an ruthless and determined as ever and continues to try to manage the lives of his children. His sons Nikolas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) are in a situationship with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Victor desires to put a stop to it all. Sally slept with both men and is pregnant by Adam but continues to date Nick who wants to be a father to the baby.

Victor was outraged that his sons could put themselves in such a mess and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has been trying to calm him down. When he is on a mission there is no one who can stand in his way and he will more than likely find a way to break up Nick and Sally.

Victor also took matters into his own hands when Victoria Newman (Amelia Heine) could not deliver McCall Unlimited and now believes Tucker McCall (Trevor St.John) is about to sign a deal giving his legacy to Victor. The only child who he allows to live her own life is Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway).

Eric Braeden sends a warning to other men

Braden decided to share his journey with other men because he was actually diagnosed. In a Facebook Live, he said that he had been having bladder issues like frequent urination that kept him up al through the night and eventually had to have a catheter inserted.

He was initially diagnosed with and treated for Prostrate issues which are common in older men. He continued to have problems and began experiencing pain so after 6 weeks of being uncomfortable he walked into the Urology Department of Ceders Hospital without an appointment but was seen right away.

The doctor used a catheter to drain his bladder and repeated a procedure done by a previous physician and put the results on the screen for Braden to view which revealed bladder cancer.

Braden wants other men to realize how they can be misdiagnosed and to pay close attention to their health. The veteran soap star says he is receiving an alternate form of treatment and not using chemotherapy. Celebrating the Soaps revealed the following:

Braeden’s doctor is treating him with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG). Although it is related to the germ that causes TB, it doesn’t cause serious illnesses. However, when BCG is put into the bladder as a liquid through a catheter, it helps “turn on” the immune system cells there, which then attack the bladder cancer cells. Eric has had two treatments so far and is doing well. We wish him continued success in fighting this illness.

Fans of The Young and the Restless are sending their thoughts and prayers to beloved soap vet Eric Braeden and are confident that he will come through this latest challenge as he has all others.
