Zack Wickham spoke out in defense of Brittany Cartwright on Instagram as she faced backlash for seemingly renaming her estranged husband Jax Taylor‘s bar amid his weeks-long stint in a mental health treatment facility.

Following the sharing of a series of photos of Jax’s Studio City being turned into Britt’s Bar, Zack took to the comments section of a joint post to defend his longtime friend against claims of trying to impress her online audience and stirring the pot amid Jax’s struggles.

“Two wrongs don’t make a right. If [you’re] truly unhappy just leave him and rightfully so with how you’ve been treated. But don’t sink to this kind of game to impress Instagram or people who want to make you stir the pot,” the person had stated. “Your husband clearly has mental issues[.] Either find ways to heal and work with him or leave. You are very clearly an amazing woman and have had a heart of gold for years. This does not seem like something your mind would conjure up. Your family and child are more important than this. Your [son’s] dad needs your support [whether] it’s as a wife or simply a [co-parent].”

In response, Zack confirmed that when it came to the changing of the bar’s marquee and staff T-shirts, it was his doing — not Brittany’s.

“I did this. I came up with it. We wanted to make her feel special for a night when she is going [through] so much,” he stated. “Her priority is [her son Cruz] every moment of every day. My priority is to make sure my best friend makes it [through] this tumultuous time in her life being fully supported and uplifted. That’s what this night was about. So y’all can say what [you] want but you know nothing about what is going on so please stop bringing Brittany into your hateful comments and direct them towards me. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, also on Instagram, as some suggested Brittany wasn’t showing enough compassion to Jax amid his treatment, Brittany posted a photo of herself wearing a racy, cut-out dress and declared, “Out with the old, in with the new.”

After Brittany’s post was shared, she received both support and criticism.

“Brittany time for a reduction. It’s really time,” one person stated.

“Idk what pictures y’all haters are seeing, she looks freaking amazing and this dress is killer on her amazing body,” argued another.

“Love seeing a woman putting herself first and getting well mentally after a verbally abusive relationship,” stated a third.

And someone else said, “If it didn’t have those two gigantic holes it would be [fire].”

The Valley season two is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
