When Victoria told Billy Abbott that Johnny and Katie want to go back to boarding school on The Young and the Restless, Billy whined something about not feeling needed anymore. Victoria reminded Billy that this wasn’t about him, this was about their kids, and he backed down.
Young and the Restless: Poor Billy Abbott
But we know an obvious lie when we see one. And we know the real reason Billy (Jason Thompson) doesn’t want Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) and Katie to follow in his and their mother’s footsteps:
Y&R Time Bandits
Billy mentioned how he didn’t enjoy his own time in boarding school. But what he didn’t say is that, because he went, he knows what happens at those places. No, we don’t mean the partying or the drugs or the hook-ups. We mean the rampant aging. Billy went to boarding school a kid and came back a teen who looked like a twentysomething. The same thing happened to Victoria (Amelia Heinle).
And Billy’s brother, Phillip. And Victoria’s brother, Nicholas (Joshua Morrow). And Lily’s (Christel Khalil) twins. And Traci’s (Beth Maitland) daughter, Colleen. And Adam (Mark Grossman). And Abby (Melissa Ordway). The only one it hasn’t happened to recently is Connor (Judah Mackey). And also Faith (Reylynn Caster), somewhat.
Young and the Restless: Secret Lives
Billy may claim he doesn’t want to be so far apart from Johnny and Katie. But we think it’s because he doesn’t want to suddenly be the father of college graduates. Billy knows he’s a hot mess, and having kids old enough to start working at Jabot (or Newman Enterprises, these are some serious nepo babies) would mean he’s no kid anymore, and it might actually be time to stop whining and get his life in order. And Billy has no interest in doing that. Victoria was wrong. This is all about Billy, after all.
