In the Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, December 15, 2023, Nicole babynaps her own baby. Serves Sloan right.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, Sloan readied to confess her sins for nothing, and Tripp pried into Stephanie’s business. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.

Possession Is Nine-Tenths Of The Law

Another morning after another restless night. Yet more screaming from infant Jude Roman. Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) managed to pull herself out of bed to tend to the tyke offering Eric (Greg Vaughan) some much-needed respite.

Mother and son — or, more accurately, kidnapper and victim — made a run to Sweet Bits, and no sooner had Jude shut his peepers and ceased his squalling than Sloan noticed her wallet was missing. Deciding to dart back into the bakery, she left the babe in his stroller just outside the door…give or take a dozen or so more steps.

Predictably, someone made off with the wee one, and the stroller to boot, leaving Sloan in a tizzy. She phoned Eric, who phoned Marlena (Deidre Hall), interrupting her convo with fellow grandparent Roman (Josh Taylor). Luckily, someone thought to phone 9-1-1, and soon Rafe (Galen Gering) and Harris (Steve Burton), who awoke to find Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) in his bed, were on the case.

Despite himself, Eric put Rafe on Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) tail. After all, she had form when it came to stealing babies. The Commish hightailed it over to the DiMera mansion but Nicole was nowhere to be seen — she’d supposedly gone on a run around the lake. EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) took great exception to the implication.

Then again, Nicole’s car was still in the driveway (which she would need to get all the way to the lake and back) and her phone was upstairs. Suspicious. Once Rafe took his leave, EJ went down to the secret room and found his wife clutching Jude Roman.

Honesty Is The Best Policy

Having already threatened to upend Sloan’s life earlier that morning, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) was suspect numero uno as far as Sloan was concerned. Her suspicions seemed to bear out when he arrived at the police station with Jude Roman’s empty stroller. When the two were alone, Leo pleaded innocence.

Not that he felt sorry for Sloan. She doesn’t have what it takes to be a mother. She’s mean and selfish and Leo knows from bad mothers. Not convinced that Leo hadn’t made off with the baby, Sloan readied to come clean to Eric about why the artist formerly known as Lady Whistleblower would stoop to babynapping.

Hangover Cure

Meanwhile, Stephanie’s attempt to make a clean getaway from the Brady Pub was noticed by Leo. And, before she could make it back to Casa Johnson, she was stopped by Tripp (Lucas Adams). She confessed to having a rough night during which she did something really stupid but left it at that. She insisted that she didn’t really want to talk about it. But talk she and her brother did.

Stephanie filled him in on Everett’s (Blake Berris) return, the drama that caused between her and Chad (Billy Flynn), Chad’s inability to fully commit to her, and their subsequent breakup. Tripp wondered if the romance was salvageable and encouraged Stephanie to give it a go. It was either that or take Everett back. Stephanie had a think and then phoned Everett. Would he be interested in grabbing a coffee or “whatever?”
