Harris Michaels knew Ava was no saint on Days of our Lives. For one thing, they both met in a mental institution after committing multiple crimes, including murder. But, they were both committed (ha, see what we did there?) to walking the straight and narrow once they were set free. One did, the other did not. Will this ruin the romance?
Harris Michaels: What About Me?
Harris (Steve Burton) joined the police force and got himself on the right side of the law. Unfortunately, his gal pal didn’t follow suit. Instead, Ava (Tamra Braun) became embroiled in a plan to help Clyde (James Read) sell drugs. So, you know, they appear to have different definitions of what straight and narrow means. Once Harris finds out, should he forgive the woman he loves?
Harris forgave Ava all her other sins — the same way she forgave his — so he won’t be happy that she declined to confide in him about her latest troubles. Isn’t that what he’s there for? She isn’t with him for his pasta-making skills, after all.
What About Me, Again?
Ava will, most likely, throw herself on the mercy of the cop, and confess that Clyde threatened the life of her beloved son, Tripp (Lucas Adams). Harris will understand that part. The part he won’t understand is why she didn’t come running to him for help right when it happened. He, man. He want to rescue woman. Woman not understand that. Man not having it!
Evolution of Man
At least, that’s what the old Harris would have said. But, this is a new Harris. He’s an enlightened, modern man. He’ll fume for a bit but then he’ll accept that Ava is a strong, independent woman who wants to handle her problem on her own.
She didn’t want to burden him. She was trying to protect him, especially now that he’s an officer of the court. She did it for him. That is acceptable. Now let’s go punch some people. To help her. They are such a well-matched couple!
