On today’s Days of our Lives, Shawn Brady barreled his way into the DiMera manse and really rather stymied Harris’s attempt to bring big, bad Megan to justice.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) bonded like siblings should, Dimitri (Peter Porte) played Gwen (Emily O’Brien) for a fool, Kate (Lauren Koslow) stuck her nose into Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty) affairs, and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) received some good news and some bad news. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Days of our Lives: Shawn Brady Rages Against His Hapless Wife
Upon finding Shawn (Brandon Beemer) pathetically attempting to unscrew the lid on a bottle of newly purchased vodka, Belle (Martha Madison) admonished her husband — it was barely past breakfast time — snatched the drink from his hand, and hissed that she’d been the one who poured his last container of spirits down the drain.
Belle then declared that all of this was going to have to stop, and it’s not that she’s asking him to forget about what he did, but she is asking him to deal with it and to deal with it in the right way. And no, drinking himself into a stupor is not the right way.
Instead, why doesn’t he go and talk to her mother? She’ll surely be able to help him process all the guilt he’s feeling. Shawn blanched. Therapy? Therapy?! Vodka’s cheaper.
Belle pressed on, desperate to convince her love to work on himself. It’s not going to be easy or immediate, she granted, but it will, eventually, give him the perspective that he so clearly needs. To that, Shawn railed. He doesn’t want or need perspective. What he wants is to hurt. He wants to be miserable. That’s his punishment for his crime. That’s what he deserves. And he “means every damn word of that!”
Days of our Lives: Shawn Brady’s Rage Nearly Does Him And Harris In
Meanwhile, Harris (Steve Burton) pointedly queried just what had Megan (Miranda Wilson) been doing down in the secret tunnels and she explained that she’d merely been getting acquainted with her family home. What was HE doing there? That was simple. “I’m done watching you hurt people.”
Megan couldn’t help but roll her eyes and pass judgment on Harris’s “terrible case of savior complex.” Also, does his job come with a “shiny tin badge and a decoder ring?” [HA!] No sooner had Harris readied to draw his hidden gun on Megan than Shawn burst into the room and demanded to know what in the Hell was going on. What was Harris doing talking with Megan? More to the point, Megan wondered why her house resembles Grand Central Station.
Harris attempted to explain that he was there to deal with Megan, not make a deal, but Shawn wasn’t impressed. “Who asked you to do that?” he snarled. He can fight his own battles. He can make Megan pay — and he most certainly intended to make her pay, especially after she dismissively termed him a “pathetic, drunk, little man-child.”
But when Shawn made a move against her, Megan drew her own hidden gun and warned her would-be-attacker to back off unless he wanted a bullet between his eyes. Harris luckily managed to defuse the tension and convince Megan to let him and Shawn walk out the door free and clear. No easy feat. It certainly took some convincing.
Days of our Lives Recap: In This Together
Downstairs, Kristen and EJ bemoaned their plight, the latter even more so considering he was missing Nicole’s appointment as they groused. EJ relayed to his sister how he’d gotten Nicole pregnant twice before and both times she miscarried and he didn’t want her to have to go through that again, especially on her own. He really loves her, even if he’s not confident that she loves him the same way that he loves her.
Kristen deduced that EJ had said “the ‘L’ word” and that Nicole hadn’t said it back and EJ offered that “it’s complicated because of her past feelings for Eric Brady. Though, it might become less complicated now that he’s clearly moved on with that hateful lawyer, that bête noire of everyone of Salem.”
And then, there was the little matter of Nicole not being fully aware of who the father of her baby was and hiding her condition from him as a result. Not exactly circumstances conducive to romance. Even Kristen had to admit that she wouldn’t have said “I love you” back in that case. EJ tickled himself when it dawned that Kristen was actually trying to offer him some genuine emotional support and Kristen half-joked that if he told anybody she’d deny, deny, deny.
Days of our Lives Recap: Much To Be Desired
Elsewhere, his and Gwen’s hotel room to be exact, Leo (Greg Rikaart) did his utmost to get Gwen to see that “tall, dark, and dangerous” Dimitri was just using her for great — and free — publicity and he put the baddie on notice. He’s got his number and he’s not going to let him take advantage of his bestie!
Once Gwen managed to shoo Leo out the front door, Dimitri confessed that he had come there with a bit of an agenda, but it was to profess his feelings for Gwen. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her since the day that they met [Riiiight]. He felt something and ever since that day, he hasn’t been able to get her out of his head or his heart [Totally believable].
Gwen fell for his line of bull hook, line, and sinker and jumped his bones. The amorous interlude was briefly interrupted by a text from Megan urging her son not to screw up his courtship of his potential future wife but was put quickly back on track.
Days of our Lives Recap: Baby On Board
Having been assured by Eric that love and loyalty are a two-way street and that he’ll be there for her and that he most certainly doesn’t mind being seen with her in public, Sloan again floated the idea of the two of them having a baby together. After all, he does so much for her, and she wants to do a little something for him in return.
Eric hedged that now wasn’t exactly the right time to have a baby and an eavesdropping Kate jumped in with her two cents which amounted to plunging in, embracing the chaos, make what they want to happen actually happen right now.
With that, Eric and Sloan resolved to make a baby. And, who should be the first person they share the news with but Nicole, who was flying high after hearing there’s a very good chance that she’ll actually be able to carry her baby to term.
