The new season of Married At First Sight is set to be the most explosive yet.

According to relationship John Aiken, the upcoming series will see brides and grooms airing each other’s dirty laundry in a series of dramatic dinner parties and commitment ceremonies.

Aiken, 53, teased the new format, stating that this season would be based around the theme of ‘trust’.

‘I often think loose lips sink ships,’ he told Daily Mail Australia. ‘In this series, people often air dirty laundry when they shouldn’t and there are consequences to that.’

Aiken said the issue of trust, or the lack thereof, will be at the forefront of every fiery confrontation.

Trust issues are expected to unravel when the cast members candidly expose deep secrets among the cast, setting the stage for what could be the most intense and confrontational series yet.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that both relationships and friendships will fall apart after behind the scenes gossip makes its way to the dinner parties.

‘There is a lot of gossip that happens at the gym, and off camera that played part into most of the dinner party,’ said one well-placed source.

As previously reported, one groom’s world is about to get shattered when he finds out about his bride’s secret rendezvous.

‘The cheating scandal only came out because [someone] decided to betray their friend in an attempt to bring in some drama,’ they added.

In a troubling twist, a groom is facing fierce backlash for showing intimate snaps of an ex at a gym.

The groom, who Daily Mail Australia has chosen not to identify yet, is said to have been outed by a co-star he once considered a ‘friend’ at a dinner party.

The jury’s still out on whether this storyline will make the final cut, but the air was tense when Aiken berated the groom for his ‘disrespect’.

Married At First Sight 2024 returns Monday January 29 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
