Paul “PK” Kemsley reacted to Julia Roberts saying his Pretty Woman-inspired gift for Dorit Kemsley was “very strange” on Instagram after her Watch What Happens Live appearance last Thursday.
After PK, 56, was seen reenacting the Pretty Woman moment in which Richard Gere‘s character, Edward Lewis, presents Julia’s character, Vivian Ward, with an expensive necklace on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but informed her that the jewelry was on loan, Julia responded to the moment during a chat with Andy Cohen, 55.
“I blocked it out until this moment. It was very strange, wasn’t it? I really did block it out until you just brought it up again,” Julia, 56, admitted to Andy on the December 7 episode of WWHL.
According to Julia, she could tell Dorit, 47, was not thrilled by her husband’s gesture, and she said that the only way it would’ve been a good idea is if the necklace was something PK had purchased for Dorit, who was robbed of $1 million worth of items during a home invasion in October 2021.
“She didn’t seem [thrilled by it]. And, you think the only thing that would’ve made it work is if the necklace was the gift. And before she even settled her eyeballs on it, he was like, ‘It’s going back, baby.’ I didn’t understand any of it,” Julia noted.
At that point, Andy recalled PK telling Dorit, “‘We’re having an early dinner at the Beverly Wilshire.’”
“I mean, even that would make you suspicious,” Julia replied.
Although Julia clearly wasn’t a fan of PK’s anniversary gift for Dorit, PK got a kick out of her discussing it on WWHL and reshared a clip from the segment on his Instagram page.
“I think she liked it?” PK joked in a caption, as seen in a screenshot shared by Bravo Snark Side on Instagram.
After seeing his RHOBH castmate’s post, Rob Minkoff, 61, the husband of cast member Crystal Kung-Minkoff, 40, weighed in, jokingly (we think) telling PK he was “clout chasing.”
In response, PK wrote a message back to Rob, which read, “Oh he speaks.”
