Lisa Vanderpump is reacting to Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky‘s separation and sharing whether or not she’ll reach out to her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmate.
While also discussing “Scandoval” and its impact on Tom Sandoval, 41, teasing Vanderpump Rules season 11, and revealing if she’ll see Ariana Madix, 38, on Broadway, Lisa, 63, admitted to feeling sad for Kyle, 55, and Mauricio, 53, as an insider claimed she’s grown “concerned” about the ongoing delays Ariana and Katie Maloney‘s new sandwich shop has faced.
“I knew there were many rumors but I’m kind of the biggest advocate of not listening to rumors,” Lisa explained on TODAY on January 25. “But I feel very sad for her because I know Kyle really held her marriage very close and near. It was very important to her, and she always kind of gave the impression of everything being perfect, whether it was or it wasn’t. I think it’s a shame, I really do. I hope they find their way back to each other.”
Although Lisa is rooting for Kyle and Mauricio to mend their marriage, that doesn’t mean she’ll be intervening.
“I think that ship has sailed. When I’ve run into her, it hasn’t been exactly … But I think she knows how I feel. I’ve been very honest about that” Lisa noted. “Now, I have seen Mauricio. I saw him at Dancing With the Stars. So, yeah, I kicked him in the a**.”
Reflecting on “Scandoval,” which saw the reveal of Sandoval’s affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 29, Lisa said she was shocked to see how much coverage the situation received.
“Oh good Lord, yes,” she stated. “[And] I started to worry that it was getting so much — it took on a life of its own because Tom had to, I know he was 1,000 percent wrong, but it was still a lot for him to go through.”
According to Lisa, she’s like a “mother figure” to the Pump Rules cast, so it was hard for her to see everyone against Sandoval.
“Imagine if you’ve got eight or nine kids, like these kids are to me, I’ve watched them grow up, and everybody’s against one,” she described. “This season’s very different to the last one but I think we need to see it.”
“Things are always changing on Vanderpump Rules. That’s the good thing about this series: it constantly evolves. But Ariana’s living her best life, which is fantastic,” she added.
Although Lisa said she’d love to see Ariana make her debut in Broadway’s Chicago later this month, she won’t be in New York City at that time.
“I want to but I’ve got to go back to L.A. I’m opening a new restaurant like, in a minute so I’ve got to go be back to work … We’re opening a new restaurant, Wolf, in Lake Tahoe.”
Also on TODAY, Lisa teased her new Hulu series, Vanderpump Villa.
“That was an extraordinary journey, for sure. It was very different to Vanderpump Rules,” she stated.
Meanwhile, as Something About Her’s opening date continues to be pushed back, Lisa is said to be “in the dark.”
“Lisa has recently expressed concern about the progress of the shop and when it’s expected to open,” an insider explained to The U.S. Sun on January 25. “She had a lot of questions about what was going on and was seeking answers from those who could provide more insight.”
“Lisa has been doing a hands-off approach and letting Ariana and Katie run the show when it comes to the shop. Quite frankly, it appears she only steps in when it comes to filming at the shop or having a conversation about the shop for the show,” the insider continued.
While Something About Her has yet to open its doors, the Pump Rules cast did film scenes at the venue to “continue a storyline.”
“The drama for next season is wild, but what’s even more shocking are all the issues Something About Her has been dealing with,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “Everything about what’s going on with the store is going to unfold this season and give fans the answers they’ve been seeking. Ariana and Katie made it seem like they knew what they were getting into when it came to opening a shop, but the reality is, they are not business people and took on more than they could handle.
“Lisa Vanderpump had to step in and give them a lot of advice,” the insider added.
Vanderpump Rules season 11 premieres on Tuesday, January 30, at 8/7 on Bravo.
