While appearing on Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp‘s podcast earlier this month, Erika Jayne revealed she was using alcohol to cope amid her marital fallout and legal drama with estranged husband Thomas Girardi.

As the 53-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member expressed concern about Shannon Beador‘s decision to keep drinking after her DUI and hit-and-run arrest, she confessed to “trying to die” in the wake of Thomas’ scandal. She also said that when it came to Alexis Bellino, 47, she felt that viewers were tiring of the Real Housewives of Orange County cast member.

“I would prefer not to see her drinking while she’s in such a terrible time,” Erika explained of Shannon on Two Ts in a Pod, via a clip shared by Bye Wig Hello Drama on Instagram. “I think that that’s counterproductive. So when I see her order a cocktail, I’m like, ‘God, don’t do that,’ if you’re in a bad place.”

According to Erika, she is worried about Shannon, 60, due to her own experiences with alcohol.

“I was trying to die. I was trying to hurt myself. I was really trying to not wake up and not hear it anymore,” she shared of the state she was in — and the backlash she was being flooded with — years ago. “I was tired, so I didn’t care. I don’t know what she is feeling. But that’s true, I wanted it to stop — all of it.”

“I made choices to numb myself, bad choices, and I know this, which is why I continue to stay in therapy,” she added.

Also on Two Ts in a Pod, Erika addressed Alexis’ behavior on RHOC, which recently included threatening to leak videos John Janssen, 61, has of his ex-girlfriend, Shannon, that were taken on the night of her DUI.

“I could see why she would wear you down. I mean, I think — look, you know what, you are not the only person. The whole audience is worn down by this woman. And I say that with love and kindness,” Erika said, via Heavy. “They are. You can see it. If you’re feeling it, we’re feeling it, imagine what everybody else is feeling.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 premieres this fall on Bravo.
