Erika Jayne is discussing how Crystal Kung Minkoff is different off-camera, and if she thinks Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley will work out their issues following the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion.

In the current season, Dorit questioned Kyle’s marital difficulties with her husband Mauricio Umansky. Kyle seemed to be put off that Dorit interrogated her on camera, rather than privately. Things came to a head at the reunion, when Kyle finally confronted her about it.

In the reunion’s first two episodes, Erika was awkwardly seated between Kyle and Dorit – who were fighting continuously. Throughout the arguments, Erika looked as if she wanted to disappear.

“The [reunion] couch is small, first of all, [and] we’re really kind of stacked in there,” said Erika of her placement between Kyle and Dorit, in an interview with Deadline. “And then to see [them] having this conversation, and my shoulder pads, my ponytail, I literally had to be like… I felt like Homer Simpson [hiding in] the hedge.

“I think that Kyle and Dorit will work their differences out,” she went on. “There are a lot of emotions running around. We all care about each other, even though it may not look like it, and believe me, we all do. There are things that the audience will never know that we know about each other and things that we’ve held on to or kept. No one wants anything bad to happen to anybody, I don’t think — I certainly don’t. But, they need to work that out and I’m sure that they will because they care about each other.”

Erika then opened up about her costar and friend Cyrstal, first sharing how Crystal is different when they are not filming.

“I would like to see more of the Crystal that I know off-camera, on-camera, because she is a lot of fun,” Erika explained. “She has a lot of things to say. I wish that she would throw away how she’s being perceived. You have to, at some point, let that go because it will inhibit who you are, and we’re there to give our opinion and be ourselves.”

“Not everything is flattering, and sometimes you’re going to be the only person that has your own view of things,” she said. “But you have to be comfortable being in that space. You can check a lot of boxes: you can have the house, you can have the clothes, you can have the husband, you can have all of these things… But if you don’t know who you are inside and be willing to stand on that, that doesn’t translate, and that’s not a good housewife.”

Many fans want Crystal to share her true thoughts on camera – but she seems to play it safe, and never challenges her ‘allies’ Sutton Stracke and Garcelle Beauvais. Some are wondering if she’ll keep her diamond.
