Kyle Richards opened up about her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky‘s “disrespectful” Instagram activity after Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As she also addressed the comment she made about being open to dating a woman amid rumors of a romance with friend Morgan Wade, 29, Kyle, 55, admitted to feeling disrespected by Mauricio, 53, as her castmates, including Dorit Kemsley, 47, and Crystal Kung-Minkoff, 40, also weighed in on Mauricio’s social media activity.
“I think Instagram’s literally the worst thing for relationships. I hate it. I think it’s terrible,” Kyle began on the January 10 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “[So] now, I’ve thrown Mo under the bus.”
According to Kyle, she’s grown increasingly irritated with Mauricio’s Instagram behavior, which recently included the sharing of a couple of racy clips, one of which featured Brazilian singer Anitta, 30, and YouTube star LeLe Pons, 27, skiing down a mountain in nothing but towels, and another that saw him partying shirtless with Anitta.
“Six months ago, I’m like, ‘It’s kind of annoying,’ now I’m like, ‘Yeah. You know what? And you know what else?’ Don’t even have me check those DMs,” she warned.
“I wish I was the type of person that could just laugh that type of thing off and be like, ‘Oh, look at you.’ But I [can’t]. And not only does it feel disrespectful but it also was like, we’re in the public eye and people can see who you follow and comment,” she continued. “I’m not talking about if Mo’s liking [Erika Jayne‘s] photos on Instagram, that’s totally different. I’m talking about something that’s really unnecessary and makes me want to grow a horn and a tail and kill people.”
According to Sutton Stracke, 52, and Garcelle Beauvais, 57, they believe Kyle was upset at Mauricio because he “liked” some pictures. And, according to Dorit, Mauricio should know better.
“Mo certainly knows that his wife would not tolerate him engaging with younger, attractive women on social media,” she notes.
“You’re really disrespecting your spouse In a public forum. And that’s like, even worse,” Crystal agreed.
Meanwhile, Annemarie Wiley, 40, suggested Kyle simply has trust issues.
“If Marcellus wanted to look at beautiful women on Instagram, we don’t have rules per se, but I also don’t have trust issues,” she shared.
Then, after a flashback featured Kyle and Mauricio having a tense conversation, during which Kyle informed her spouse that she was quite “clear” about her feelings, Kyle revealed the scene was shot “right after one of those Instagram situations.”
“My girl [was] pissed,” Erika, 52, stated of the discussion.
During another segment of the RHOBH: After Show, Kyle and Dorit looked back on their conversation about dating women.
“It definitely came out of left field. If I had to answer it today, I’d say, ‘Maybe.’ I don’t think I could say a hard no, obviously if wasn’t with [Paul “PK” Kemsley],” Dorit explained.
As for Kyle, she confessed to making the comment to surprise her castmates — and viewers — before sharing her daughters’ reactions to her new outlook on life.
“Two reasons I said that: A, for shock value, B, because I’m at a place in my life where I’m like, I don’t know. I have zero judgment,” she revealed. “I was like, Who am I to say? I’m not judging anything. Like, who knows? I’m starting from scratch with my own beliefs and I’m just a lot more open-minded about a lot of things across the board.”
“My girls are saying to me, ‘Mom, I can’t believe you got tattoos. I love this new enlightened version of you,’” she added.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
