Jax Taylor has responded to Brittany Cartwright‘s divorce filing and custody request by reportedly handing over full legal and physical custody of their three-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi.
In court documents filed last month in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County, the 45-year-old star of The Valley, under his legal name, Jason Cauchi, represented himself as he requested a dissolution of their marriage but suggested they were “never legally married.”
On October 2, C indy Cee on X, formerly Twitter, shared the news with her fans and followers, stating that Jax gave Brittany, 35, “full physical and legal custody of their son” and crediting @Number1Pod on Instagram for the leaking of court documents.
In a series of uploads from The Bravo Babe on X, it was confirmed that Jax listed himself as a “party without attorney” and as a “responder” to Brittany’s petition on September 26, 2024.
The Vanderpump Rules alum also answered “yes” to a question that asked, ”Do you know of any person who is not a party to this proceeding who has physical custody or claims to have custody of or visitation rights with any child in this case?”
He then checked a box reading “has physical custody,” although the name and address weren’t filled out.
Although Jax noted in his request for dissolution of marriage that he and Brittany had been married for four years and six months before their separation in January, he also checked a box suggesting that he and Brittany were “never legally married.”
In addition to giving legal and physical custody of Cruz to the petitioner, Brittany, Jax named their $1.9 million home as their only asset and requested the property be divided “at a later time.”
Jax’s filing comes just weeks after he spoke of co-parenting on his and Brittany’s podcast, When Reality Hits.
“I will always love and care for Brittany. She’s the mother of my beautiful son. All I want for us is to be amicable co-parents, and even hopefully, really, really good friends one day,” Jax said. “I know I’m an amazing father and I know that I will make an excellent ex-husband.”
The Valley season two recently wrapped production and is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
