On The Couch: Why Days’ Chloe Lane Needs Brady To Forgive Philip

Brady was furious when he laid eyes on a still very much alive Philip on Days of our Lives. He was even more angry when he heard how Philip deliberately framed him for his alleged murder. And he was absolutely not thrilled when Chloe Lane defended Philip and urged Brady to forgive his uncle.

On The Couch: Chloe Lane

Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) didn’t explain herself. We doubt Chloe can explain it to herself. So we put the songbird on our couch for a little rifle through her psyche.

Days of our Lives: Good To Be Bad

Chloe has done some good things and some bad things. She’s been a villain and she’s been a victim. Chloe thinks that’s what makes her such an understanding person. Sure, she could have been angry with Xander (Paul Telfer) about that whole trapping her with a Mexican drug lord thing, not to mention his more recent crimes: Kidnapping Bonnie (Judi Evans), causing Susan’s (Stacy Haiduk) death, etc. Instead, Chloe decided to be Xander’s employee, then his friend, then his roommate, and now his fiancée. She is open-minded!

Chloe Lane: Blast From the Past

Chloe is equally as forgiving of Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier). And she begged Brady (Eric Martsolf). So what if he might have ended up going to prison for life? He didn’t, right? So, no harm done! And, while he’s at it, he should forgive his Grandpa Victor (John Aniston) for helping Philip cover up his crimes. The man is dead. So, what good does keeping a grudge do?

DOOL: Tell Me Why

Why is it so important for Chloe that Brady forgive Philip? Because, if Brady forgives Philip, then it will give Chloe more justification for forgiving Xander. Because if Chloe doesn’t forgive Xander, then Chloe can’t marry Xander. And if Chloe doesn’t marry Xander, she might have to face that she still loves Brady.

And if Chloe admits she still loves Brady, she’ll have to admit that the only reason she is staying away from him is because she doesn’t want to deal with the devil spawn that is Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) and her devil of a mother. Because that’s not the kind of quitter, Chloe sees herself as being. So she tells herself she is doing what’s best for Rachel, for Brady, and for herself. But she needs a little bit of help. And that’s where Brady forgiving Philip comes in.
