Married At First Sight’s worst kept secret is now in the open after the Reunion Finale trailer confirmed a controversial couple swap.
Jacqui Burfoot, originally paired with Ryan Donnelly, and Clint Rice, originally paired with Lauren Hall, made their relationship MAFS official as they put on a loved up display in this season’s final trailer.
The clip opened with the pair sharing multiple kisses as the obvious was declared by the former groom.
‘Since the experiment, we’ve been in touch,’ Clint, 44, told the camera.
‘And we’ve touched each other…’ he said, as his new beau laughed hysterically beside him.
While it’s long been known that the couple have been romantically involved, with Jacqui, 29, confirming on Instagram that she had moved into Clint’s Tasmania home, it is not known when the pair began their tryst.
It’s this fact that Ryan, 36, was very quick to hypothesise on at the sit-down dinner.
‘You guys started this whole connection while we were still married,’ he sensationally claimed in the clip, as the other participants reeled in shock.
Then, in a piece to camera, Clint served a devastating blow to his girlfriend’s former husband: ‘Jacqui’s gone from a Kia to a Ferrari.’
Jacqui, who delivered the most brutal and bizarre breakup speech in the show’s history in Monday night’s episode, could be seen telling Ryan to ‘zip it’ from across the table.
She then proceeded to lose her cool as her shouts towards her former husband turned into uncomfortable shrieks.
‘I tried my a** off. My literal a**. I did,’ she screamed, as the trailer expertly cut to a loud thunder strike and then to comedic relief Jamie Marinos.
‘Appreciate Jacqui like a work of art,’ she told the camera in the wake of the reality star’s meltdown.
Elsewhere in the trailer, Sierah Swepstone could be seen yelling ‘stop’ repetitively across the dinner table, fan favourite Jamie was in tears as she covered her face and Paul Antoine was given a serious talking to by love expert John Aiken while on the couch.
‘I’m gonna tell you the way it is,’ John told the groom.
‘And look at me when I’m talking to you because I won’t get another chance to give this to you straight,’ he sensationally instructed Paul, before the trailer cut him off.
To no one’s surprise, up-and-down MAFS couple Ryan and Jacqui entered splitsville during their Final Vows on Monday night.
In some of the most bizarre scenes the Nine series has ever seen, Jacqui accused Ryan of organising ‘a gang attack’ on her.
She then tore the groom down with several pages of lengthy vows before leaving him cussing her out at the altar while she promised to return with a new man.
‘I’m hopeful I will find my person, I just don’t know when it’s going to be. I have a feeling it’s going to happen sooner than I think,’ she said to the camera with a smile, hinting at her controversial relationship with former groom Clint.
The Married At First Sight Reunion will take place on Monday and Tuesday next week, with Nine airing the drama-packed finale episodes over two nights.
