Married At First Sight’s Tristan Black and Cassandra Allen have called it quits after they struggled to form a connection on the Channel Nine dating show.

The couple finally made the decision to end their relationship, with both writing ‘leave’ during Sunday night’s commitment ceremony.

Tristan shared his feelings of rejection and withdrawal after confessing his love to Cass.

‘I told someone I was falling in love with them and then I guess I got kind of rejected and then I just, you know, kind of just retreated,’ he confessed.

The admission came after a week of reflection, leading them to the painful conclusion that their relationship could not progress beyond friendship.

Cass, on her part, expressed a mixture of sadness and disappointment but acknowledged the importance of their time apart.

‘We spent this week reflecting on our relationship. And last night we decided we’re ready to accept that we’re just gonna be friends,’ she explained to the experts.

The couple’s conversation, described by Tristan as a form of closure, revealed a mutual understanding and acceptance of their situation.

‘We just kind of had a chat about it. It’s like where are we actually at? We talked about it. It felt like a bit like closure to me. Like it’s like we both kind of were on the same page. If that makes sense,’ Tristan added.

In a bittersweet farewell, Cass offered Tristan words of encouragement, suggesting that his future partner would be incredibly fortunate.

Tristan responded with a heartfelt acknowledgment of Cass’s impact on his life, expressing gratitude despite the heartbreak.

‘Cass, you broke my heart, but I’m glad you were the one who broke my heart. You know, you’re the first person I’ve told I’ve fallen in love for. And either way, it didn’t work out, you’re stuck in my life forever. And maybe a little bit longer I can work on myself, and maybe we can reconnect in the future,’ he shared.
