Married At First Sight’S Paul Antoine Breaks Down In Uncontrollable Tears After Punching Door In Rage As He Discovers Bride Carina Mirabile Slept With A Rapper – And Then He Blames Her

Married At First Sight groom Paul Antoine displayed his dark side on Wednesday night, punching a hole in a door after an argument with bride Carina Mirabile.

The episode opened with Carina and Paul, both 31, waking up in separate apartments after spending a fun day out with fellow couple Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels.

‘I felt anxious waking up this morning, a little bit on edge and just sad,’ Carina admitted.

She then explained the foursome had been enjoying a ‘lovey dovey’ day out ‘enjoying the sun’.

But tensions quickly rose during the Uber trip back home when Carina revealed she had once slept with a rapper.

Daily Mail Australia revealed on Wednesday Carina slept with American rapper Quevo before the experiment.

‘In the Uber I was putting on music,’ she said.

‘I put on a song and I said a comment that I’d slept with this rapper and I didn’t think it was awkward.

‘Paul and I have spoken about our pasts so I didn’t think there was an issue at all,’ she went on.

However, Paul obviously had an issue with Carina’s confession and she attempted an apology when they returned to the apartment.

‘I was cuddling him and he was like, “I just need space,”‘ Carina said to camera.

‘He obviously didn’t like that. I turned around and went to bed and that’s when he got really angry and he punched a wall.’

Putting forward his version of events to camera, Paul admitted he lost his cool during the confrontation, while subtly blaming Carina for his actions.

‘I just completely lost my nerves,’ he said.

He continued: ‘She couldn’t give me my space and I just absolutely lost it… and ended up punching a hole in the wall.’

Paul was quick to apologise to his bride the next morning, sobbing uncontrollably as the pair embraced.

‘I can’t stop thinking about it,’ he said to Carina.

‘I should never react that way. I promise you that’s never going to happen again.’

The pair then sat down to hash out the previous night’s fracas and Paul once again placed some of the blame for his actions on Carina for not giving him space.

‘I was so angry at that comment in the cab, I felt so uncomfortable and disrespected. I could hear you trying to apologise [but] I couldn’t take your apology seriously because you were adding a “but”,’ he said.

‘The fact that you couldn’t give me that space I needed. You got all upset over the fact that I wanted to leave and go for a walk. You got really angry at me.’

Carina refuted Paul’s version of events.

‘I didn’t do that. You are so dramatic and it’s p***ing me off,’ he said.

‘So, I punched a wall out of thin air for nothing?’ Paul doubled down.

Despite this, Carina admitted she was ‘not giving up’ on her groom and wanted to give him the chance to ‘make it up’ to her.

Then it was time for Paul and Carina to front the rest of the couples at the dinner party and Paul’s admission shocked everyone at the table.

‘I did something that I absolutely regret. Something that is absolutely unacceptable,’ he told the table.

‘We had a massive argument [and] whenever I go through a big fight I’m someone who withdraws and I need my space to be left alone.

Paul continued his confession: ‘Carina asked me to stay and that’s when I started to feel trapped. I just wanted to leave and that made me more angry and in that moment, I threw a punch in our bedroom door.’

Paul’s outburst was unequivocally slammed by everyone at the table and experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling, and Alessandra Rampolla who concurred his actions were ‘unacceptable’.

In fact, the only person at the table who appeared to play ‘devil’s advocate’ for Paul was Carina, who admitted she had forgiven her groom.

‘This behaviour obviously came by surprise,’ Carina said when asked by Awhina how she was feeling.

‘Honestly he’s not one to be like this. He doesn’t treat me incorrectly. I wasn’t scared. I’m not scared to be in the apartment with him.

‘I wont accept it or tolerate it but he understands what he’s done. I forgive him.’
