It seems that Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis’ mother has an unusual way of keeping her children’s relationships in tact.

Martha’s fiancée Michael Brunelli, 33, who she met on season six of the hit reality show, took to Instagram on Sunday, to share a racy throwback pic of Martha.

However, in a short clip, Michael revealed that the photo was actually sent to him by Martha’s mother Mary.

Standing next to Martha, 36, Michael holds his phone to the camera showing a photo of Martha from a shoot she did with photographer Josh Ryan.

The photo, taken in 2019, showed Martha flaunting her enviable bronzed form in a revealing leopard print bikini.

‘This is what my mother-in-law texts me,’ he said as Martha giggled.

Pointing to his partner, Michael continued: ‘That’s Martha if you didn’t recognise her.’

The clip then cut to Martha looking at the image and reflecting on the ensuing years.

‘It’s amazing what six years does to a gal,’ she said before Michael swooped in behind her put his arm around her neck and went in for a kiss saying: ‘You’re still hot.’

Mother Mary then entered the scene which prompted Michael to ask: ‘What were you thinking when you sent me this at 11pm. You texted me a photo of Martha in a bikini.

‘I was cleaning out all of my photos and that came up and I thought, “I’ll send it to Michael,”‘ Mary replied.

When Michael asked Mary why she sent him such a racy pic, Mary replied that she was trying to keep the spark in his and Martha’s relationship.

‘We just don’t want you to leave,’ she said. ‘We need you in the family.’

Martha recently hit out at ‘internet know-it-all-perfect mums’ and has revealed how they are making her ‘mum guilt’ worse.

She took to her Instagram Stories to slam people for giving her unsolicited parenting advice on the platform.

She shared a sweet photograph of her son Lucius buckled into a small chair on the kitchen counter next to her while she cooked.

Martha was quick to follow up in an impassioned post hitting out at online trolls who criticised her for putting her child in the chair.

She said she was ‘losing patience’ with ‘know-it-all-perfect mums’ who felt the need to comment on her parenting and detailed her struggles with ‘mum guilt’.

‘Before everyone comes at me with their advice/opinions. He doesn’t sit in this chair all day,’ she penned in a lengthy caption.

‘He has heaps of time playing in his nursery and outside. He was sitting here because I was about to film, Michael was in a work meeting and Mary was cooking.

‘Instead of leaving him to play without supervision, he ate some berries and sat here. It’s sat I even need to preface this but I’m kind of running out of patience with the internet know-it-all-perfect mums.

‘Like being a mum isn’t already hard enough, the guilt, the stress of whether you’re doing things right is a daily battle.
