Married At First Sight bride Jacqui Burfoot turned the tables on husband Ryan Donnelly during Tuesday night’s shock episode, by going on a date with another match.
During the episode, the pair were allowed to meet with another potential love match the experts had found during the audition process – so Jacqui met up with Rory, 28, for drinks.
After a fun date with Rory in which they exchanged phone numbers, Jacqui, 29, reported back to Ryan, who was absolutely shocked she had agreed to meet with another man.
‘Tell me a little bit about him. You said at the start of the experiment we didn’t match up aesthetically… so I am curious about what he was like,’ Ryan demanded of Jacqui.
Unfortunately for Ryan, Jacqui showered her new match with praise: ‘He was a really lovely guy.
‘Really sweet and open-minded on everything, the conversation flowed really easily. He was really lovely and I walked away feeling a lot lighter as a person. I felt happy!’
Ryan then asked Jacqui if she felt that Rory was her true ‘match’ on the show.
‘I don’t know why you want to know so much about him. Are you getting jealous?’ Jacqui shot back.
She told the cameras that Ryan was clearly jealous of her newfound connection.
‘Ryan was definitely jealous I went on a date! He always gets jealous about other men, he’s a very jealous type,’ she said.
Jacqui added she was pleased with Ryan’s reaction because it proved how much he cared about her.
‘It shows that Ryan really cares about me and still has feelings. I feel that today was definitely really good for the both of us,’ Jacqui chipped in.
‘It’s done wonders for our relationship! I have got hope.’
However, Ryan then dropped the bombshell admission he had also met up with another match, Vivienne, and discussed his relationship with Jacqui with her.
‘She didn’t agree with how you went about things. She said, “oh, it sounds like you have got the short end of the straw”,’ Ryan shot back.
Jacqui later told the cameras that while both of their new matches were ‘nice people’, they didn’t share the incredible ‘history’ and bond she had with Ryan.
The dates actually brought them closer together, with Ryan agreeing to move back into their apartment.
It comes after a ‘heartbroken’ Jacqui Burfoot wept as she begged Ryan Donnelly to take her back on Monday’s episode.
The couple’s relationship was all but over after Sunday night’s commitment ceremony in which Ryan opted to leave the experiment.
However, with Jacqui writing ‘stay’ the couple will remain another week to see if their relationship can be salvaged.
The controversial bride, who has been hurtling a raft of insults at her reality TV husband on social media for the past couple of weeks and claimed she wanted out of the relationship, was adamant she was ‘in love’ with Ryan.
However, it seems that Jacqui may have more success on The Block, with the consultant likening their pairing to a home renovation.
‘I feel really sad after last night,’ Jacqui told producers.
‘I thought that the feedback I’m giving is for the betterment of both of us. I want it to work for happiness.
‘I’m working on improving. It’s like me renovating the home because I want to live there in the future.’
She kept the home improvement theme going as she, once again, burst into tears.
‘Maybe he’s just a chair and I was trying to get him to be a door. Maybe the chair just needs comforting right now,’ she said.
If Jacqui had any hopes of salvaging the relationship, they were set to be crushed by Ryan who said he was ‘resolute’ in his decision to write ‘leave’.
‘I feel good in my decision. I feel resolute but also righteousness as well. I do not want to be a part of this relationship anymore,’ Ryan told producers.
Jacqui and Ryan are no longer together and she is now living with their MAFS co-star Clint Rice in Tasmania.
Married At First Sight continues Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
