Home and Away star-turned-MAFS bride Madeleine Maxwell is set to dramatically quit the show.

Daily Mail Australia can exclusively reveal that Madeleine, 30, faced insurmountable challenges within her on-screen marriage to Ash Galati, 33, all underpinned by their painful lack of chemistry.

Their relationship reached a breaking point following an intense argument, leading Madeleine to pack her bags and leave the show itself.

‘Maddy refused to play ball with producers and sensationally quit. Ash was just as much done and over it too,’ an insider dished.

‘Ash knew that he didn’t stand a chance with her. He called up the producers post-ceremony declaring he wanted out. Yet, they were brought back together for one final showdown.’

This explosive ending was not what Madeleine had envisioned when she joined the show, hoping for a chance to control her narrative and experience something unforgettable.

Instead, she found herself disillusioned with the reality TV experience.

‘She felt completely humiliated,’ a source close to Maddy revealed.

‘Madeleine told her sister Teagan that going on the show would be an experience to remember, and assumed she would have a lot control of of her narrative.’

‘Nothing was going in her favour and that commitment ceremony was a real wake up for her.’

Melbourne-based Ash was spotted checking into Skye Suites apartment, where the show is being filmed, alone on September 6.

Following her exit, Madeleine has stepped back from the spotlight, deactivating her social media accounts and choosing not to participate in the show’s reunion.

It comes as a cast member told Daily Mail Australia that ‘nobody has heard from her’.

‘Maddy didn’t really make an effort to get to know anyone and had no friends on set. I am not surprised she didn’t last long to be honest.’

‘My wedding day was me getting on the Titanic’

It comes after Ash compared his ill-fated marriage to the Titanic during an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Australia, and said ‘it was destined to fail.’

Recalling his time on the experiment, Ash said by the time the couple attended the first dinner party he was ‘ emotionally exhausted from the honeymoon’.

‘I was pretty much yeah, at my wit’s end. So I was like, ‘you know what? I want to see the other couples. I want to just touch base with the other couples’. And ask, ‘Am I going crazy here? Am I actually going crazy? What is going on?’.

‘I had absolutely not a chance in hell with Madeline.’

‘She was never gonna give me a chance. She didn’t know why she was on the experiment.

‘And yeah, as for me, obviously my wedding day was me getting on the Titanic. Just had no idea that it would doom to crash and burn.’

Ash didn’t hold back from expressing his suspicions about Madeleine’s behavior in front of the cameras.

‘She can turn it on very well… She’s really good at turning it on when the cameras are on,’ said the pest control salesman.

Ash’s doubts grew when he learned of Madeleine’s past as an actress.

‘I was like, “Is she genuine? Like, why is she on here? Is she acting?” So it played into my doubts.’

Married At First Sight continues on Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
