Married At First Sight star Ryan Gallagher is set to be limping for a while after sustaining a severe work injury.

The 36-year-old took to his Instagram story on Tuesday to share a gut-churning photo what showed his bloodied foot, underneath a shredded black sock.

Upon closer inspection, a small hole is found at the base of the middle toe on his right foot, caused by an errant drill bit.

Ryan seemed to handle his injury with humour, joking about the incident to his 205,000 followers.

‘New trendy foot piercing at work today,’ he quipped.

The reality star also took the opportunity to share a valuable lesson on how to use a drill correctly.

‘Don’t drill steel on your work boot behind the steel cap,’ who would have bloody known,’ Ryan added.

‘The drill bit made that hole in my sock too!.’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Ryan Gallagher for comment.

Ryan has certainly had his fair share of injuries this year, including a severe one he sustained in January from an ankle grinder.

He shared two photos of his hand jaggedly cut open and bleeding profusely on while explaining the mishap.

‘Thank you to everyone of the staff at the RBWH who were so bloody lovely the last week, I had a fight with an angle grinder working on one of my cars’ Ryan wrote in the caption.

‘Which got both my hands, tendons and index finger put back together in my left hand and tip of my rude finger re attached and half my finger nail put back in place.’

Ryan jokingly thanked his one-year-old son Sampson and his Olympic swimmer fiancée, Emily Seebohm, for taking good care of him.

‘Sampson now wipes my bum. Emily is a power house and I’m thankful for her and her family taking on what I can’t do for Sampson for a little while’ he said.

The former reality star and Olympic swimmer Emily welcomed their baby boy called Sampson Ryan in September 2023.

Ryan quietly changed his public Facebook profile picture that month to feature a photo of himself and Emily with their newly born son.

The pair announced their engagement in March last year, after the couple met on Channel Ten reality series The Challenge in 2022.

However, they opted to keep their engagement under wraps until March.

‘We just wanted to live in our own little bubble, we just wanted that for us and our families,’ Emily told the Daily Telegraph.

Ryan proposed to her next to a dam on his farm near Goulburn, NSW, with a trilogy diamond ring from Goulburn’s Zantis Jewellers.

Speaking to Stellar in February, Emily revealed the couple were in no rush to marry, but could elope at any time.

‘I feel like sometimes we talk about it and say maybe we should elope or we’ll go to the Town Hall and just get it done,’ Emily said.

‘If weddings weren’t so expensive or take so long to plan, we would have done it. It’s probably an after Paris [Olympics] thing.’

Ryan rose to fame on season five of Married At First Sight when he was paired with controversial series ‘villain’ Davina Rankin.

Davina was portrayed in the series as having an affair with Dean Wells, who was paired with Tracey Jewell.

She bore the brunt of ire from MAFS viewers while Ryan engendered sympathy, becoming an instant fan favourite.

Emily, who made her Olympic debut at the age of 16 at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, failed to qualify for Paris in the 100m and 200m backstroke.
