MAFS fans have accused groom Ridge of ‘ruining’ another couple’s relationship with his brutal opinion on their marriage.
In the second half of ‘Feedback Week’ on this year’s season of Married At First Sight Australia, where couples were given the chance to advise their fellow couples. Ridge was paired with Andrea and his revelations were explosive.
Ridge didn’t hold back with his thoughts on Andrea’s marriage as he claimed she is less interested in her husband Richard than he is in her.
When Andrea flocked to her husband’s side to debrief, another bombshell came as Richard agreed with Ridge’s bold claims.
Ridge told Andrea she was the one who appeared to “wear the trousers” in their relationship, claiming it’s clear “Richard is more invested” than she was. And Richard agreed, telling Andrea there is some truth in it, as he does feel as if he’s more into their marriage than his wife.
Andrea then admitted the comments Ridge made were “unsettling” and said it made her feel “confused about her feelings” towards Rich, resulting in her “questioning everything”.
MAFS fans shared their thoughts on the chat with Ridge, as one fan took to X and said: “Ridge, stop talking. You’ve just pushed Andrea back mentally and offended her,” while a second penned: “Oh Ridge, bless him he has the best intentions but he’s just out here causing problems.”
“Ridge is trying to do a good thing, but I think he might’ve broken them again,” a third said, and another penned: “Ridge really thought this through. He’s been dying to tell Andrea all that. I’m not mad at it.”
Richard and Andrea have faced some serious bumps in the road on the show, as Richard admitted he and his wife haven’t kissed in six weeks. The frank admission came when Richard openly discussed the couple’s sex life while talking to the experts in front of the other couples during one of the commitment ceremonies.
This caused a wedge between the pair as Andrea revealed she felt uncomfortable with the language Richard used so openly in regards to their sex life, and it seems as if they still haven’t recovered as this issue came up again in last night’s episode (Wednesday 10). However, it took a turn when Richard told Andrea she was “making things up”.
He claimed he hadn’t spoken about their sex life since that commitment ceremony – which then made Andrea question her recollection of the past few weeks. He told her she was using it as an “excuse” for just not being interested in him, which makes tensions even higher with the couple as Andrea stated she wasn’t lying and claimed her husband doesn’t “hear” her when she voices her feelings.
