Married At First Sight Groom Tim Gromie’S New Dating App Profile Revealed After He Rejected Bride For Not Being Petite Blonde: ‘Just Because You Saw It On Tv Doesn’T Mean It’S Real’

Former Married At First Sight star Tim Gromie has called attention to his ‘villain’ edit on the hit show.

The controversial groom attracted a barrage of online criticism after rejecting bride Katie Johnstone for not meeting his preference for ‘petite blondes’.

And now the 38-year-old has been spotted on a dating app with an updated bio that reads: ‘Just because you saw it on TV doesn’t mean it’s real’.

Reports surfaced earlier this week that Tim was using the app, called Bumble, to seek love after his disappointing experience on the experiment.

Tim’s reference to his chequered TV history is a recent addition on his profile which originally made no reference to MAFS.

The PE teacher tells users that he lives in Melbourne and makes no mention of ‘petite blondes’.

Instead, Tim has detailed that his perfect match should be ‘funny, kind and playful’.

Using the Bumble checklist the robust looking reality star described himself as an ‘active non-smoker’, a ‘drinker’ who has a wish to have children.

As for interests Tim said he likes ‘gigs, dogs’, and ‘coffee’.

He has a number of flattering photos on his profile, after previously being called out for using older images of himself that do not show his current looks on dating apps.

It comes after one ‘blonde’ and ‘petite’ woman who went on a date with Tim spoke out on the experience.

Small business owner Amea May, 32, posted a series of videos detailing her interactions with the teacher, who exited the experiment with his bride Katie earlier this year.

‘I am actually one of the sad saps who went on a date with this man who thinks he is God’s gift to women, and if you’re wondering, he’s not,’ she began the first video.

Amea said she ‘barely recognised’ Tim when she saw a meme of him on her social media recently.

‘But I barely recognised him when I actually met him for the date as well.’

‘He gave me the ick the whole time and you could just tell that he thought very, very highly of himself.’

Amea, who runs Melbourne lash studio and brow bar Dear Lashes in Surrey Hills, is now engaged to be married and said she was ‘so embarrassed’ to admit she had ‘hooked up’ with Tim in September 2019.

The beauty blogger said that she had just come out of a rough break up at the time and came across Tim after ‘going through the attractive guys’ [on the dating apps] ‘really quickly.’

‘So, you start to go for the guys who maybe are just not good at taking photos,’ she said. ‘You think, I’ll give it a go, maybe they look better in real life.

‘Also, I’m not a b***h so I’ll give a chance to a medium-ugly guy.’

Tim – who described himself as being too nice in an early episode of MAFS – has been lambasted by viewers for turning down his bride on their wedding day for not being his ‘usual type’.

He said his type is ‘blonde, or brunette,’ ‘petite’, and ‘short’.

On their honeymoon, Tim also told Katie he’d ‘put the blinds down’ when the social enterprise owner made a joke about running around naked.
