Married At First Sight Groom Eliot Donovan Throws His Wedding Ring Into The Ocean Following Shock Split From Veronica Cloherty

Married At First Sight groom Eliot Donovan has shocked fans by throwing his wedding ring into the ocean, after he and wife Veronica Cloherty quit the show on Sunday.

The Queensland-based entrepreneur, 35, recently shared a video to social media which showed him at the beach watching his exit from MAFS on his smartphone.

The clip captured a close-up shot of his dazzling diamond ring, prominently displayed on his finger.

In a cinematic twist, Eliot then removed the ring and defiantly threw it into the shallow waters.

With a broad smile, he was then seen running across the sand with his dog, marking the end of his journey with Veronica and MAFS.

He revealed in the comments section that tossing the ring felt like he was in a Hollywood movie.

‘Life feeling like a movie right now. Coming for that Oscar,’ he wrote alongside the hashtag #cinematic.

Many of Eliot’s followers were quick to congratulate him on the bold move.

‘The music, the scenic view, the emotions! Damn, we due for an Oscar nomination!’ one fan gushed.

‘This is ICONIC,’ another added.

It comes after Eliot and Veronica sensationally quit the show on Sunday night.

The pair both decided to leave the experiment after a heated confrontation in front of the experts and their fellow brides and grooms.

The dramatic commitment ceremony saw Veronica accuse Eliot of ‘baiting her’ and constantly ‘shutting her down’.

‘No matter how many times I try to resolve it, it doesn’t end well for me,’ she said.

‘I feel completely blindsided by this whole amazing persona you’re putting on for the group.’

After listening to Veronica’s accusations, Eliot defended himself and hit back at her comments.

‘So many things she has said that are blatant lies. For you to say I bait you… it’s clearly you doing the baiting,’ he explained.

Series expert John Aiken was forced to intervene: ‘I’ve got no idea what is going on but what I do know is somebody is lying.

‘It’s like the two of you are living in different realities.’

Veronica went on to say she doesn’t ‘hate’ Eliot and apologised that he felt that way.

With tensions at an all-time high, the couple were asked whether they wanted to stay or leave.

Both agreed they wanted to leave the experiment.

Married At First Sight continues 7.30pm on Tuesday on Channel Nine.
