Married At First Sight groom Adrian Araouzou had a very tense confrontation with a podcaster this week after he called the reality TV star the C-word.
For weeks, podcaster Josh Fox has been ‘slagging Adrian off’ over his antics on the show.
Josh invited Adrian to clear his name on his MAFS Funny Podcast, and the 31-year-old jumped at the chance to confront his critic.
He shared a behind-the-scenes look at the tense interaction with Adrian in his studio ahead of their interview, which will air this afternoon.
‘After weeks of me slagging Adrian off on the podcast and on socials, he has agreed to come on [the podcast],’ Josh said as he waited for Adrian to arrive.
‘I messaged him at the start of the season thinking he wouldn’t be as much of a d***head as he’s been.
‘I stupidly said I would give everyone one chance to redeem themselves and I will have one conversation with everyone and now he’s on his way.
‘This is going to be awkward because I’ve repeatedly called him a d***head, a flop, and a c**t. Now he’s on his way to my studio.’
The clip saw Adrian looking ready for a fight as he entered the studio, flashing his biceps in a tank top.
As soon as the groom laid eyes on the podcast host, he said: ‘You’re the guy that’s been talking s***. You’ve said a lot about me.’
Josh shook Adrian’s hand and responded: ‘Yeah, you actually came. I called you a c**t.’
‘Yeah and a few other things,’ the reality TV contestant sniped back as he gripped Josh’s hand tightly.
‘Yeah, get rid of my hand please,’ Josh said as he tried to pull away from Adrian who continued to cling on to him.
‘I’ve got a few things I want to talk about,’ Adrian added ominously as the pair went into the studio to prepare for his interview.
It comes after bride Awhina Rutene blew up at husband Adrian during Wednesday’s episode after she discovered he met with co-star Sierah Swepstone in secret.
The aged care worker, 30, was already unhappy with Adrian after he stormed off set when he discovered he was axed from an official Channel Nine ad campaign.
However, tensions came to a head when Awhina found out Adrian had gone out with Sierah without telling her, leading to a screaming match when he returned to their hotel room.
‘Adrian, what was the last conversation we had? That I’m not okay that you and Sierah went out to dinner!’ a furious Awhina told her husband.
‘I reached out to you! You should be apologising to me for leaving and going to hang out with Sierah.’
However, a defiant Adrian doubled-down and told her he had done nothing wrong and had nothing to apologise for.
‘Did YOU not think to reach out to me? What are you yelling for?’ Adrian responded.
A frustrated Awhina then told him she felt their communication was one-sided.
‘You say I don’t ask you questions but in my text messages I do,’ she said.
‘You don’t deserve me being here! It’s wild how you are acting right now, you are deflecting and I am not allowing it.
‘You’re bulls***. I am the one who makes this relationship work and I am done,’ she added, prompting Adrian to storm out of their hotel room.
Awhina then vented at the cameras over the ‘ridiculous’ reason Adrian had previously walked off set.
‘The reason he left was ridiculous… Because he wasn’t included in a 30-second promo!’ Awhina sniped.
‘He goes, “Why do you want me to come back?” and I wrote, “You make your own decisions, so if you don’t want to come back that’s your choice.”
‘I’m here away from my son, not to be alone in an apartment… but to be here with you! Made the wrong decision!’
The shock confrontation comes after Adrian sensationally threatened to quit the show after an explosive confrontation with producers.
The incident unfolded when he discovered he was axed from an official Channel Nine ad campaign.
The fashion entrepreneur had a meltdown of epic proportions when he realised he was the only groom left out of the promotional shoot, despite believing he was ‘carrying the series on his back’.
An insider told Daily Mail Australia that he lost it when he learned the campaign would feature his bride Awhina, alongside Jamie Marinos, Jacqueline Burfoot, Dave Thomas, Ryan Donnelly, Paul Antoine and Billy Belcher, while he was snubbed.
‘He genuinely thought he was the star of the show. He was fuming when he realised he wasn’t included,’ the source spilled.
‘He kept saying, “I’m the only one making this show interesting! How could they leave me out?”‘
The situation quickly spiralled when Adrian stormed over to production, demanding an explanation.
When he didn’t get the answers he wanted, he erupted in anger, reportedly threatening to leak illegally recorded private conversations with producers.
‘He started making threats, saying he had secret recordings that would expose how the show was really made. It was full-blown chaos,’ the insider revealed.
After the dramatic standoff, Adrian refused to take part in the rest of the publicity day and instead packed his bags, abandoned his apartment, and left his wedding ring behind—leaving Awhina completely blindsided.
