Married At First Sight expert Mel Schilling has taken to social media to share a major health update, as she recovers from chemotherapy for her colon cancer.
The relationship expert, 52, shared a gallery of photos to Instagram on Thursday which captured her healthy day on a plate as she focuses on her recovery.
Alongside a photo of some Chobani Greek yoghurt stirred into a muesli dish, Mel wrote upbeat words: ‘Part of my recovery from chemo is about rebuilding strength.
‘Protein is a huge part of this. @chobaniau has the highest protein content of any yoghurt I can find. And it’s delicious… what’s not to love? Strong women need strong food.’
The post appears to be a paid promotion that Mel is doing on behalf of the popular food and beverage company.
She also posted a happy snap of her posing up a storm at a Sydney spa, after she finished a flotation treatment, and wrote alongside it: ‘Soaking up that sweet magnesium’.
Mel underwent surgery to remove a tumour and recently completed her chemotherapy, following her shock cancer diagnosis last year.
The reality TV host revealed her shock health battle in December and underwent colon surgery just before the end of the year.
She explained her tumour – which she named ‘Terry’ – was removed by UK doctors – However, as the cancer spread through her colon into the muscle, Mel discovered she needed chemotherapy and began treatment at the end of February.
She recently provided fans with an uplifting update on her health as she returned to Sydney to film the 2025 series of MAFS.
Taking to Instagram, Mel shared her excitement about being back in Australia, specifically at Bondi Beach, where she will be living for the next couple of months.
Mel, who is well-loved for her compassionate yet no-nonsense approach on MAFS, candidly spoke about the challenges of being separated from her family, though she noted that this time apart would be shorter than in the past.
‘It’s only six or seven weeks this time around, and certainly, I’ve done longer than that. We’ve had three-month separations before, so this one is much shorter,’ she explained.
Determined to make the most of her time in Australia, Mel revealed she is dedicating these months to prioritising her health and wellbeing.
