Married At First Sight Bride Jamie Marinos Exposes The Truth About Her Rocky Relationship With Husband Dave Hand: ‘I Felt Deceived’

Married At First Sight Australia bride Jamie Marinos has lifted the lid on where things stand between her and her on-screen husband Dave Hand.

The Melbourne marketing manager, 28, was left blindsided by Dave’s hot-and-cold behaviour throughout the experiment and admitted her trust was completely shattered after a string of emotional bombshells during Feedback Week.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Jamie confessed that her relationship with the cheeky tradie was ‘on the verge of collapse’ after she felt ‘deceived’ by his changing attitude behind closed doors.

‘I felt like my whole world imploded during Feedback Week,’ she said.

‘I came back to a man who was very different… It caused a lot of trust issues and anxiety where they didn’t need to be.’

Fans will remember Jamie’s tearful final vows on Sunday, where she told Dave she wasn’t sure if she had fallen for him or just the idea of him.

And while she’s remaining tight-lipped about how things have played out after filming, she admitted she had serious doubts during filming.

‘There’s always going to be a question mark around the validity of Dave’s words,’ she confessed.

‘I needed to see if his actions were going to match his words.’

The bubbly bride also revealed just how close she came to dumping Dave and walking away from the experiment altogether.

‘I 1000 per cent wanted to leave. I threw my stuff out the day of the commitment ceremony,’ Jamie admitted.

‘I felt unsafe. I’d been vulnerable, intimate, I’d shared real emotions with this man – and suddenly it felt like I’d been deceived.’

Despite her deep reservations, Jamie said she stayed in the experiment out of respect for what they had built and to hear what the experts had to say.

‘It was very hard for me to write “stay”. But I owed it to what we had built to at least speak to the experts.’

When asked if she believed Dave’s emotional plea at final vows — where he said he wanted to give their relationship a real shot — Jamie admitted she was sceptical.

‘I was optimistic, but there’s always a question mark,’ she said.

‘It’s easy to say something on TV… I needed to feel it in real life.’

Her sister Georgia famously slammed their lack of chemistry on-screen, declaring there was ‘no romance’.

But Jamie refused to reveal whether her sister’s opinion had changed since watching the series back.

And when asked if they tried to make things work after final vows, Jamie coyly shut the question down.

‘I can’t talk about that yet,’ she teased.

‘But next week -come find me. I’ll have a lot more to say.’

Jamie also responded to Dave’s cheeky nickname for her, his ‘little backpack,’ admitting she hoped he would ‘carry the weight’ of a real relationship outside the experiment.

‘He’s saying all the right things, but I needed to see if he would actually follow through,’ she said.

For now, Jamie’s playing her cards close to her chest — but hinted that all will be revealed after the highly anticipated reunion episode.
